Wait, are you talking about yourself? If so, how did I not know you were engaged?

It happened about a year ago (actually, the very morning of the SSM decision), and it didn't really come up until now.

So it seems that Page's dual rank thing does have some basis in reality after all. Might be worth doing some digging into...

That makes some degree of sense, given how the FAA was an extension of the Navy and both involved planes.
Integrated RAF and Army ranks are probably pretty unheard of, unless you're some member of the Royal Family that just automatically get commissions in every service.

Ah, just make up some shit about how the Army rank is so that Page has unquestioned authority over Army personnel on missions.

Oh, that's exactly the plan!
I'm just saying that it's kind of a silly relic of how I didn't bother to do any serious research into RAF ranks until it was way too late and had to end up doing a dumb retcon way too late in the game.

Oh, were there RN pilots in the RAF's Fleet Air Arm? I'd just seen it was an RAF thing and assumed they all used RAF ranks. :/

If so I'd like to dual-rank him with his RN rank, and the RAF one that people keep trying to make him use following the Inskip Award and him being retained for use by 319 Squadron.

The FAA was an option for RN officers as well as Marine ones, thats why I've put both Marine and RAF ranks for Henshaw.

Well, I assumed that on early 20th century with the presence of democracy and new dominions, Commonwealth would be a thing.

Not that it is now matters.

Aww, wherefore man?

Also, that moment when you shout at Henri, and Henry answers. :p Also, just re-read Goram's first post to describe Chalkie, only to note that during the 15 minute bike ride to the RAF Station the sun is shining... And by the time he arrives it's 0430hrs. :p

Regardless of when it was, December in Britain means it ain't going to be at 0430. :p

I was legitimately surprised when I was watching the live referendum coverage saw that it was close to dawn in London at 4am.

Not that surprising for me. The closer to the poles you get, the more extreme the daylight lengths are, as a natural consequence of the Earth's tilt (i.e., the reason why the poles get 6 month day/night cycles).

Here it fluctuates from about 4ish to almost 8 in the morning. In the depths of winter, the sun has begun to go down by four in the afternoon. Most people don't seem to like the short winter days, but I tend to. Feels quite cosy if you're at home.

Yeah, there's five teams and across a 10 day working 'week' each team will work two Earlies (0700-1600), two lates (1500-0000 on a weekday, 1600-0300 on a Friday/Saturday), two nights (2200-0700) and four days off, in that order.
Worst are the literally eleven hour nights. :p

I work my regular 40 hour week five days 0000-0800 and the only thing I'm mad about is that they may be putting me on Part Time and also split up my two days off instead of having them back to back. Oh, and when they have me off on the occasional three days off without anything special so I get really excited and start making plans and then get called in to work one of those days off literally the day before while I'm already at work and I can't say anything because I'm under hours and they don't wanna pay any overtime if they don't have to.
