He then went on to fight for the Republicans in Spain during 1936, and left the fight in 1938. He was then transferred to France, where he flew sorties in Dewoitine, and Hurricane aircraft. He has now applied to transfer into 319 (Excalibur Squadron).

What about Sword 13? OP says that it is open...
In any case, I understand. Please notify me when there is an available position in either 319 or (It seems like there is one) their German counterpart.
If there is no German counterpart, perhaps I could create one? I think it would be quite fun to have a German group (or Japanese or American or whatever) that was "inspired" by the actions and audacity of the RAF's 319 squadron. I would prefer this unit not be on the side of the Allies, but I have no complaints if you had a American, Canadian, or Australian one.

Sword 13 is most likely going to be an experienced member of the squadron, who will no doubt gripe about being assigned "day care" of the "rookies"

So yeah, severe flood warnings for much of my county.

My parents are gonna be kicking themselves for moving to the coast about a month back.

England, yes.

35 severe flood warnings, 67 flood warnings and 18 flood alerts at this time including the bottom of my road (thankfully we're on a hill).

Housemates are sorting stuff out with their family, I haven't heard from my parents yet (one's in Lincolnshire, the other I'm not expecting to hear from).

Join the club. I'm in Lancashire, severe weather warnings out for the entire area. It is not fun to be outside. Not in the slightest.
