@Oale
Are you trying to incite me into an argument? Because I will sit here all day and ask you how you think Japan invaded China so easily.
(The answer is alot of people, not enough guns.)

That didn't stop Russia, considering structurally the two militaries where similar

t didn't stop them from running straight at us and losing 14,000 men a day to the Reich.
I don't call that a victory.

Actually, Germany was quite strong, however, she had weak allies, like Japan and Italy, only concerned with their own selfish interest. Japan is in no way superior. They lost to the Americans.

Weak? Japan had crushed the American navy in Pearl Harbor, poor German strategy neglected to take advantage of this. Losing to America is nothing to be ashamed of, considering they would and could destroy a many a nation.

And by 'is' you mean 'was'. We're not in 1940 anymore.

I guess you could call sacrificing tens of thousands of men a day until you weaken and defeat the enemy a "victory." I certainly don't.

The Western Empire, and that was only one of the causes. More important were the schism, widespread plagues, and incompetence in Rome itself. The Byzantine empire never fell to the Germanic tribes, and lasted far longer until the betrayal of the Fourth Crusaders and the Ottoman conquest.

Germany, in the course of the war, only lost 4-5 million soldiers.
Russia lost 8-9 million by itself, including the total allied losses.
Not a victory one would want.

Considering it was Germany that backstabbed Russia after allying them, and it was the Germans who wanted to invade, it was, regardless, a victory. Certainly, Stalin was pleased with it.

Uh, yeah, let's trust Stalin to keep his promise and not invade Germany at some future point. I read somewhere that the Germans didn't gain such an advantage because the Soviets were surprised, but because the Soviets were prepared for an aggressive war, one to take place next year.

WW2??
Wat.

Early encounters with the French B1 proved disastrous, and:
Germany launched Operation Barbarossa, its invasion of the Soviet Union, on June 22, 1941. The appearance of the T-34 proved a psychological shock to German soldiers, who had expected to face an inferior Soviet enemy. For the most part these expectations were inaccurate, and the T-34 was not an exception, superior to any tank the Germans then had in service; the diary of Alfred Jodl seems to express surprise at the appearance of the T-34 in Riga.[69] Initially the Wehrmacht had great difficulty destroying T-34 tanks in combat, as standard German anti-tank weaponry proved ineffective against the T-34's heavy, sloped armour. Adolf Hitler later said "If I had known about the Russian tank's strength in 1941 I would not have attacked".[70]

At the start of hostilities, the Red Army had 967 T-34 tanks and 508 KV tanks [71] concentrating them into five[72] of their twenty-nine mechanized corps. One of the first known encounters against a T-34 involved the 17th Panzer Division near the Dniepr River; the T-34 crushed a 37 mm anti-tank gun, destroyed two Panzer IIs, and left nine miles of destruction in its wake before a howitzer destroyed it at close range.
