It's not going down the drain. It's simply going stagnant since we don't have much organization in voting.

On the go publishing the location of the voters, how nice.

The Prime Minister is the Senate President, but it is purely ceremonial and he only ecersises that power if theres no PpT

The President pro Tempore is the real leader of the senate

Is this stated in the constitution, and if so, where is our constitution?

What was that act now again? I would suggest putting a link to every act on the summary, so they are easily findable.

Constitution Creation Act - or something of that kind.

Regardless - Tiberium,
A)AFAIK two weeks =/= 4 years. OOC and IC respectively
B) That is kinda against our core issues, to instate a monarch, the senate probably more likely accepted an Head of State Monarch than a Head of Goverment one...... Not that they really have a choice.....

But a Monarch also would be hereditary.
You include election there.

Laws can be changed. They are also not any "large" laws or something like that, which we might have. Those would need to have an election in between changes so that a party can't turn the country upside down. Sort of basic laws. Like the constitution.

But what glamour does an elective monarchy have? I mean, we would have no princes and princesses, no crown princes, no nothing. Also we would need some large base of aristocrats and nobles for that. At least that is how it was before.

(The I-promised-you-this-day-would-come-Alouite-two-months-late Edition)

Republics of the World, the RP-heavy, detail-extensive supermassive game anyone "who likes nation simulation games would love", is back as ROW v2.0 with plenty of big fixes, economic mishaps corrections and exciting new features.

For those of you to whom ROW is an unknown mystery: ROW is, ultimately, a very big spreadsheet, on which hundreds of thousands of calculations are made for each trigger pulled by RPers. ROW resembles NSG Senate closely, except what NSG lacks ROW has an over abundance of it. Players take the roles of members of parliament in a fictitious, virtual, anarchic nation. Players write and pass bills in the nation's legislative house which have effects on various national statistics-- a larger, more zealous police force would tackle crime, and green energy subsidies would clean the nation's air.

There are over 800 different ways to affect the country, along with over 60 default bills to pass. By default, I mean that these bills were preregistered into the spreadsheet, and user-created bills with certain, more specific effects will be added as the game progresses. Statistics range from the literacy rate to the Human Development Index to the price of a barrel of petrol.

New Ways To Play
As opposed to v1.0's playing style, where two occupations were separately available, v2.0 presents four ways to play at the same time. In v1.0 we had Senator, the politician bill-passing necessary protagonist, and the Journalist, who printed out the most recent happenings. Now, v2.0 allows the availability of the Chief Executive (CEO) role, where the player role-plays as the CEO of one of the nation's largest firms, and the Citizen, where the player role-plays any virtual citizen of the country and writes about life in the country. The player may choose to only play as one of these characters, two, three or even the whole lot of them!

v2.0 will also not be played on external forums, because that, in retrospect, killed the version. v2.0 will be played in P2TM the same way NSG Senate is played in Forum 7. There will be this Sign Up + Discussion thread (alles), a Legislative thread (Senators), News thread (Journalists), Business thread (CEOs) and a Citizen thread (Citizens). It's pretty straightforward.

v2.0 gets rid of the Gini coefficient, because that barely worked, and replaces it with a snazzy HDI module, which rather annoyingly takes up more space than just the one cell I would have preferred. Oh, and GDP per capita isn't messed up anymore (shh, no one actually knew about that).

v2.0 has a new time/calendar system, where every day is equal to one in-game month with the exception of Sunday. So Monday January, Tuesday February, Wednesday March, Thursday April, Friday May, Saturday June, Sunday we take some time off, Monday July, all the way to Saturday December. Every two weeks is a year, every Sunday I print out the semester's numerical happenings and every two months is a new election.

If you've made it this far, or alternatively if you're gasping for a TL;DR, then do check out the old June ROW signup thread, and from there the even older interest thread.

OK re-reading this I get the impression that the game is unplayably solemn and dull. It's not. If you take part in NSG Senate or enjoy role-playing senators, journalists, businessmen-- just people in general (or both), then ROW will amaze you. Here, I'll even underline this so it gets your attention. And in a box.

ANY QUESTIONS YO? YOU MUST HAVE MILLIONS. ASK THEM ALL BECAUSE I'M PRETTY SURE I COVERED 1% OF THE INFO YOU NEED SO FAR.

Oh, woops, almost forgot the applications.

Please note that ROW is based in a universe of its own, so please do not relate your characters to your NationStates nation. Thank you.

Yea....I have a question......what is this again.......exactly? :?:

Fun.
Take the NSG Senate, give it way more calculations, logic, and realism, while subtracting the joke parties.
We have paramilitaries, Libertarians, Monarchists and Socialists.Fascists and Conservatives.
Returned Nationstater -- You can leave Nationstates but Nationstates won't leave you.
Call me Jon, John, or Johnny, Jonathan or Jonnyboy, tJS and Jonathanian, with "states" or without.
This nation doesn't really represent my views and sarcasm is awesome.

We need a Communist Party, that'll liven the place up.

We barely have a libertarian party. All our parties seem to be going in one direction too.
