Well, we have a police force.

That was founded five minutes ago, they cant do much, although we could just wait it out and let them starve to death or turn off the utilities and let them freeze or dehydrate

We could pass an emergency act, nationalising the private police and putting them under the Corbrun Police.

M102 does that.

There is most likely, as I have talked with the OP about this, a large private police force, for hire. Also, what is this M102?

I'd say that we then push for an implementation of M102, fast. I am sure all senators but Jonathan would agree to it.

It just makes L113 effective immediately instead of in an hour

So Ark says there's a private Police?

Technically. A lot of different polices, too. But they're primarily for protection of custome-- individuals. Still armed, though.

An OOC hour is enough time IC for Jonathan's forces to move rather fairly.

But the private police force sounds like a good idea. If only we could motion for them with 1/3 agreement on the funding.

So would we be able to legally force them to join the CNP?

He was dismissed anyway due to L113 being passed, but that doesn't change anything L113 says all who are associated with a Paramilitary Group will be tried.

How do we try someone who resigned?

EDIT: since he resigned, M102 is needless,

Fund the private police? Do you also want to drink trees? You can't fund the private police, else it becomes public.

You have to pay for them. Funding would require a law, paying would take a motion.

However, as said, M102 isn't needed anymore.

ALso, since he has already moved against the government, why should he obey new laws put up? I mean, the stones are in motion. The soldiers wont just put down their guns and say, oh wait, this is illegal. LEt's go home boys.

Ark could we make a motion to contract the private police, until the CNP is fully formed?

Ah, yeah. I see what you mean.

Is it just me or is everyone else imagining this like a satirical political cartoon with senators using civilians to hit each other on the head?

In the sense that we passed laws to basically call off an entire coup?

Corburn National Police, they're important because the passing of my Police Act banned paramilitary groups, and they're currently our only defense against Jonathan, except they haven't been formed yet.
