Emily closed her eyes and she just listened. She felt a relief within herself

Dillon hummed the last of the music for a minute then spoke remembering. "A wise man once told me, If life gets rough, grab an axe and start singing." He smiled now practically cradling Emily. "Some of the best advice I ever got. Might do you some good if you think about it."

Dillon looked around then remembered Jamie sitting in her car. And thought: She's probably so bored right now... I'll make it up to her if I get off this bench before my arms freeze off.

Jamie walked out her front door, knowing where Dillon was. She looked up at the roof, saw him, and shook her head. Unable to speak because of her deafness, she tried other things to get his attention.
