Uhh, there are no sources of tin accessible to our tech level in Sicily or southern Italy. I'm pretty sure there aren't even tin deposits there that we can access in the modern-day.

Well, tin is probably near to the most expensive material on the planet in this day and age. Arming your men in it fully would literally bankrupt your nation, at a guess. Not to mention the trading of such a valuable good is probably regulated by most powers, so saying "I traded for it" doesn't really hold water.
