We have our own shit to take care of here in Asia, and just throwing a couple of high-altitude, long-range bombers towards England is already jeopardizing many of my total defense plans. All we want to do is be on the winning side when it goes down, and maybe get some economic benefits along the way.

Only issue is, if the Nordic pisses off Russia, it'll be facing a superior opponent in many aspects. Japan may find itself in a bad situation, considering Russia and Japan have a very prosperous trade union in the works.
Of course, this is from my perspective. I have no idea of Japan's intentions or favours.

The Japanese have bigger problems to worry about, namely, China, and will probably freak out when the Chinese take over Indochina and Indonesia.

Yes. Japan is trying to be the friendly next-door uncle that everyone likes. That is all. Of course, if a world war breaks out, Japan will likely side with Russia more than the Nords by way of Geography, though if Russia and China end up buddying up against them then Japan may terminate everything with Russia.

Senkaku, we already know the Chinese will take over South East Asia. It's not so easy to hide puppet leaders.
