On a serious note though, something about a Nazi scientist seems kinda cliche to me. Also, what's an ex-Nazi scientist gonna be doing in Detroit anyways? He an Eminem fan?

Well, downside is that he's a Nazi, and probably restricted to a wheelchair. Plus side: he's probably the best damned shot in the group, might be a scientist, and could probably do better than 99.9% of the group, despite probably being restricted to a wheelchair.

Not just restricted to a wheelchair, but 90+ years old. At that age he wouldn't even be able to fire a handgun with any sort of accuracy, plus he'd have some serious shit wrong with his body. So, yeah, novel idea but no; no ninety year-olds.

FYI, WWII soldiers were given almost no time to train with their weapons before being dropped into the thick of it. Surviving those battles didn't mean you were a good shot, more often than not it meant you were lucky.
