Stay tuned then. I think it's more-or-less confirmed as happening at this point, but I, Tilt, and Mon, are still hashing things out.

I'm going to leave that poll up for a few more days but, at the moment, it looks like folks would prefer an urban setting (6-3) in the USA (9-4).

Two more things:
1) I'd like to know how folks feel about a soft bar on military characters, i.e. they would be approved very sparingly, and on a case-by-case basis, after our [co-]OP's reviewed the application. I might put it up as a new poll, if I don't see many responses here.
2) We're looking to have a more focused plot this time around, so if anybody has any ideas TG them to me, Tilt, or Mon. I can't guarantee that we'll use them, but at the very least it'll give us something to mull over.

1. We need to use a limit on military apps, and place a higher standard on military characters, I believe. So that we know that none of the players will turn them into Badass Sue suddenly, or we place strict rules to not make apps as former special forces, and have to make apps as former normal soldiers.

2. We are a group of friends/strangers who found themselves working together to get to the safe haven where the uninfected people are safe?

I'm down with Detroit or what not. A limit needs to be put on military characters definitely, 3 at the max. I'm ready for this reboot, probably have a different character though.

I think we could start inside the city, maybe find early on a safe zone within the city. But with the apocalypse not ending and draining our resources, we have to seek alternatives. One of them could be escaping to the more central parts of the country, to Flyover county, where they plan on rebuilding in peace.

Just brainstorming.

If we do get stuck in the city for a while, we can have the survivors set up greenhouses on the rooftops of buildings. That way we don't always have to scavenge buildings for more food, but of course we'll still need to look for ammo, clothes, water, and things to fortify our location with.

Alright, I'm calling the poll. Final count is:
1 vote to return to Ann Arbor
10 votes for a more urban environment
4 votes for a more rural environment
4 votes for a setting outside the USA.

We'll be looking at larger USA cities to set the RP in this time around.

Next poll: a cap/soft ban on military characters. In this case, a cap being a hard-and-fast limit filled on a first-come-first-serve basis, a soft ban having no set limit but requiring much higher standards and a full review/consensus by the [co-]OP's. They can also be implemented together (in which case there would be a set number of military characters slots filled first-come-first-serve, and military character apps would be subject to the same scrutiny as if there was a soft ban in place) or not at all. Please keep in mind, on this matter we may not go with the majority opinion; I'd just like to see how everyone feels about it.

Well, downside is that he's a Nazi, and probably restricted to a wheelchair. Plus side: he's probably the best damned shot in the group, might be a scientist, and could probably do better than 99.9% of the group, despite probably being restricted to a wheelchair.

On a serious note though, something about a Nazi scientist seems kinda cliche to me. Also, what's an ex-Nazi scientist gonna be doing in Detroit anyways? He an Eminem fan?
