The Walking Dead RP [OOC 2.0] [REBOOT?]

Is it OK to use existing characters, or do they have to be original?
I was thinking of using Philip Blake, aka The Governor, but changing his personality, i.e. he isn't a bad guy, more of a generous person, but people think it's just an attempt to gain popularity, or such.

Could this work?

The RP itself seems interesting, as it is!

I'm going to vote no, because I want to avoid crossing-over with main characters of the series. Small crossovers like locations or items from the comics, TV show, or video game, I would be okay with, but I'm kind of against using main characters.

Your character can share the governor's qualities, but I'd rather you not be him. I'd actually be cool with you being random character from Woodbury, if you wanted to.

Just staggered out of the hospital tent, head bleeding and driven insane by starvation. I'd like to RP this out if possible, but if you feel a timeskip is needed then go ahead.

Cami is busy, Cy is busy, I'm semi-busy, so it might be tomorrow, in which case there might be RPing it out.

People involved (Vir, Phon, Nex, Mon, Verk), what do you think about timing of posts?

I'd like to see Scott and Gabrielle come over to Kenny's stoned out of their minds, but I'm willing to let the story surpass humor in this case. If you do the time-skip, we'll need to work out what happened while you two were at my place, or maybe you two didn't come at all. Maybe, Zoe tried knocking on the door, but you two fell into a slumber or went into another room to do 'whatever it is you kids do'.

I actually have "bigger" plans for Kenny anyways, so feel free to skip if needed.

Also, I'd like Kenny to get chance to speak with Anna.

Just gonna throw it out there that I think incorporating source-material characters is a terrible idea. Mainly because there is a degree of discontinuity between the novels and the show, and including anything specifically from either (particularly characters), would force us to choose one over the other (and introduce a plethora of continuity problems which would be messy and confusing to rectify).

Also, the Governor is dead in both series. So.

As it is, though, I'm changing the character idea; he could still be The Governor, just not the Woodbury one, a different Governor, with different personality etc. [so not the The Governor, if you see what I mean], not even in Woodbury, and with different set of individuals, since obviously, names like The Governor are not copyrightable (stock characters and all etc.) but this one seems to be a bit more of an eccentric-type geezer, if you know what I mean, a British eccentric type; he's English-American, and has a small group of survivors with him.
