To be honest I loved the old ones for their story...The new ones just aren't my preference for RPG's nowadays...

I'm pretty sure it was illan's idea to drink the venom. I distinctly remember him saying something about spirit animals. I think he just wanted to show us all an illusion of something ridiculous, so that we'd think it was a spirit animal.
