Everything I use is entirely conceivable from today's technologies. Nets have been there for ages, and it is possible to coat the streets with foam and jell, for a very small area, that is. My European territories are merely 1.7 km2. Bombs can't explode without colliding with something solid, so that's why we're catching them in mid air.

If the Verdumiac aircraft cannot avert the nets, the nets will be sucked into their propellers/jets, hopefully disabling them.
