And "creating a system of violence that you would be a victim of" seems really popular. Karl Marx was rather well off for most of his life, and would most likely be killed in a Marxist revolution. Hitler wasn't aryan, and thus if he wasn't the furer would most likely have died in a camp. Stalin wasn't communist, so by his rules he should have sent himself to a gulag. Etc.
