430 BC: An Era of War (Peloponnesian War RP, OOC, Open!)

[The Nation of Hay]

The Peloponnesian War reshaped the ancient Greek world. On the level of international relations, Athens, the strongest city-state in Greece prior to the war's beginning, was reduced to a state of near-complete subjection, while Sparta became established as the leading power of Greece. The economic costs of the war were felt all across Greece; poverty became widespread in the Peloponnese, while Athens found itself completely devastated, and never regained its pre-war prosperity. The war also wrought subtler changes to Greek society; the conflict between democratic Athens and oligarchic Sparta, each of which supported friendly political factions within other states, made civil war a common occurrence in the Greek world.

The fires of war have blazed long and furiously throughout human history, and now engulf the Greek Peninsula. The Peloponnesian War ravaged the Hellenic city-states for nearly 30 years, bringing forth many changes to Ancient Greece. You will lead your state for the glory of your faction, the Delian League or the Peloponnesian League. Or, if you'd rather, disregard your allies and attempt to conquer Greece in your name. Your actions will change the Greek world, and your story will fill the history books.

This is an RP based on the Peloponnesian War, a war between two groups of Hellenic city-states: The Delian League and the Peloponnesian League. You can apply for any city-state that existed at the time. You will start out in whichever league your city-state was part of, but over the course of this RP, you can make or break alliances and attempt to unify Greece under your banner.
