It's because of the meta-cognition required to be a successful heterosexual male; courting a lady requires understanding how she thinks, what she likes visually, what she likes emotionally, etc. to a certain extent.

I presumed the Europeans avoided war, instead focusing their efforts on proxy war and wars in the colonies over the Crystals. So no bloodshed in Europe (except for perhaps at sea) since they're all maneuvering for position, but all the colonies are hellholes into which the Great Powes pour their budgets and young men.

Well it depends on when the WWI advancements took place. If they took place at the normal time, we probably wouldn't be dealing with trench warfare, at least not anymore.

Communism would exist without the Soviets. Perhaps not in the Soviet Union, but I think it'd exist.

In any case, Russia does have many issues to deal with - I deliberately gave them some Crystal deposits of their own.
