The man was cruel, keeping her for himself for a few weeks before selling her into slavery. She was auctioned off to a man named William who ran a traveling brothel. While the man was basically her pimp, he treated her with dignity. He kept her safe, he made sure she was fed, and allowed her to keep most of her earnings. He taught her English and French, taught her to shoot, and taught her the ways of the land. This lasted for 3 years before he died of liver failure at an early age of 32.

After that, she left the brothel, looking for work elsewhere. She became a bounty hunter as the pay was good, she liked traveling, and she took every opportunity to kill Frenchmen. She set up base in Ngcobo in the Eastern Cape. There she learned to speak Xhosa. After a few years of bounty hunting, the pay started to dwindle and the area started to get unstable. She left for the Freistat to look for better bounties.

Then on the weekends I occasionally slip into a full seven hour sleep, but even that tends to split up into two because I find it very hard to sleep that long straight nowadays.
