It might be a blown transformer. The power's out in our neighborhood but Pittsburgh is still lit up.
Rain and winds are not our friends out here. I'm eternally grateful that MS Word saved the doc.
PS taking the battery out of a laptop saves battery but then the laptop shuts down when the power goes.

As for the power outs, I think (I never get a specific report), but when either the internet or cable's out during the rain- slick roads + lots of cars + telephone poles = woops, there goes the connection.
