Cer, that's awesome. *nods*
I got...immense satisfaction and amusement from scaring one of the Filipina maids out of her skin (although by accident). I've still got it! Who's the Conscience? *I'm* the Conscience.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

I'd walked up quietly but didn't want to disturb her, so I just kind of stood there awkwardly glancing around at the wall. Then she turns. Very very short pause. Rustling of newsprint as she jumps backward about half a foot. Profuse apologies from both sides.
This is the same thing for which I originally earned the nickname. I had a bad habit of being extraordinarily quiet when walking up behind people.

My mother ghosts behind people. You don't know she's there until she pokes you and makes a weird sound. You put your skin back on, pretend it was cute and remain paranoid for a week afterwards.

She put her head in her hands and made a series of squeaks and whimpers as she cried quietly. She had not known Swith that well, but she had given her a magical umbrella, she had made sure that she didn't burn to a crisp. It just wasn't fair.
