1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?

Nation RPs definitely.

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting.

I'm not in an RP region. I normally RP with a variety of people, but I also RP with the same people too.

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed?

Semi-open. If it's completely open, then any lame RP-nod can walk in and stir up trouble or just ruin the RP. If it's closed, there's generally not enough people and the RP would die.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction?

I really have no preference, though concrete canons I like slightly more so that.

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not.

I think mixing tech levels and species is awful. I mean, let's say you RP as a scent infix superpower versus a third-world country, then obviously there will be a tech difference, which is perfectly fine and called-for. However, mixing MT with FT and PT to create a mess is just bad. I also have a hatred for Fantasy.

As for species, mixing, if we're not RPing as humans, I cannot take the RP seriously. Along with my earlier point if a RP is Fantasy and has multiple species, I cannot take the RP seriously and will not join.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid?

So you mean by stats as a point-stat system? If so, then that. I like have to have a structures balance system instead of just trusting that everyone will RP fairly.

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs?

Alternate Reality Nation RPs are a lot better I think. RPing as a real nation and having to follow certain, forced things doesn't seem fun. I mean, this website is called NationStates. I want to RP as my nation and make my choices.

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them.

I use P2TM. Every now and then I'll participate in an RP in Intentional Events (or whatever the forum is) but for the most part most RPs there suck.

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like?

I would like more Nation RPs that are asymmetrical. I would really want to try out an RP where everyone is a weak little country, but one person is a superpower. P2TM is fine, but it lacks asymmetrically.

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM?

Less Fantasy, mix-species RPs and more serious and Alternate Nations RPs.

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why?

Depends on my mood and everyone else in the thread. However generally I consider my RP posts more "passionate" if you will. When I look at my posts compared to others, I just feel like mine normally have more emotion to it than others.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer?

Probably the biggest two things is someone that doesn't blatantly god-mod, and posts relatively large RP posts when they have the opportunity to do so. By that, I mean, I've been there where I currently cannot reply or RP that much but I need to get an IC post up so I post a rather short one anyway.

I would also say that you need proper punctuation (nothing special, just periods, commas, and capitalized letters) to be a good RPer.

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS?

Roughly a year or so now, maybe a bit longer. And no, I didn't RP before NS.

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS?

Experience. Many times when I was new and I posted short little posts, people would criticize me and insult me. This negative reinforcement honestly made me strive to do better.

While in real life positive reinforcement is a lot better then negative reinforcement, I think negative reinforcement is a lot more effective when it comes to teaching how to RP well.

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which?
No, I don't.

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer?

Obviously the RP mentors and the people that criticized me, but no names pop up in my head.

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why?

I honestly cannot say.

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English?

It's my first and near only language, so pretty fluent.

20) Do you visit General? If so, why?
I do, to talk real politics. And debates are always fun.

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe?
I don't know what that is, no probably no.

22) What's your country of origin? (optional)
*Plot Twist* The United States of America.

23) Ethnicity (optional)
American.
24) Religion (optional)
I'm an atheist.
25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by?
Doing good, having fun, basic stuff.
26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP?

An OP that listens to who his participants are, doesn't abuse his power, and accepts the inevitable mistakes he/she makes, but still willing to put his foot down when some people are running the RP for others.

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
A combination of both, such as in the Polandball RP I am currently in... But it's a bit slow...

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting. With the same people. I am not in a RP region, but some in my region RP, as well as some outside of my region.

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed? Semi-open.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction? Open, more fluid interaction.

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not.
I love mixing tech level and sapient non-humans (especially Polandballs!) and whatnot.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid?
Fluid.

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs?
I absolutely HATE war RPs!

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them.
P2TM.

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like?
I like P2TM. WAAAAYYYY too much war. Not enough humour or openness or daily life. My RP thread, the Polandball RP thread goes WAAAAYYYY too slowly...

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM?
Less trying to maim/seriously injure each other. More fun, humour and daily life!

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why?
I would consider myself better since I don't write one-liners, it takes about 10-30 minutes to type my posts, I am a Grammar, Spelling AND Punctuation Nazi (though I try to hide it to prevent upsetting people) and I love writing about daily life!

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer?
PERFECT grammar, spelling and punctuation. NO one-liners. NO Godmodding. Those who don't focus on FIGHTING ALL THE TIME! Touches of humour. Very detailed description. Poetic approach to dialogue. Prose approach to narration.

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS?
I have RPed since the start of the first Polandball Academy thread (which has now died), which was only about earlier this June 2014...

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS?
Having written (and disposed of) my own stories, poems and roleplaying in the playground in Years 1-4 in Primary School.

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which?
Only P2TM and the NS RMB

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer?
No. I learned by myself.

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why?
POLANDBALL!!!

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English?
Native speaker and obsessive Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation Nazi.

20) Do you visit General? If so, why? A little bit. Mainly to look at the punishments Mods give to offenders when I read reports in Moderation, as well as to comment on the occasional thing that interests me...

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe? What's that?

22) What's your country of origin? (optional) Australia!

23) Ethnicity (optional) Half-Chinese, with the rest a motley mixture of English, Scottish and Irish

24) Religion (optional) Han Buddhism

25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by? I have only started RPing and real-life emotions inform my RPing. I am inspired by emotions I feel at the monents I RP.

26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP? Setting... Story... Introduction... Open ends...

I'll post my own answers shortly, after I have some chai. Suggest things I can add to this

What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
I do pretty much all of them, but prefer characters.

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting. I RP with a variety of people, but Kulfuros, Tomia, Imperialism, and Nuridia are the most recent.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction?Somewhere in the middle, with a good canon, but fluidity.

This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here. What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us.
The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us.
The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours. The danger is to the body, and it can kill. The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.
The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
I like RPs that grab my attention without me having to read too much into it. I prefer a mix of both worlds.

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting.
Almost all RPs that I've been in are with the same group of 4 people (Padnak, Organised States, DEN and Congreveopia)

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed?
Open so that more new "faces" can join our merry band of RPers.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction?
Fluid with some kind of hard base-line.

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not.
I've never really liked Aliens in any game, book or story so I don't really find them interesting in RPs. Cat-Girls and that sort of thing sure, or aliens that look like humans, sure, but anything that stands out far too much creeps me out.
Mixing tech level is a whole different cup of tea. I love that. it makes whoever is lower on the Tech food chain work harder and come up with some crazy, yet still awesome, ideas.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid?
When making an App, I like to flesh out my character. I will give them a solid start and slowly build onto that, so I guess I chose Fluid? Maybe?

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs?
I do, since it pits somebodies mind against another's as they try to understand each other and plan for their next move. It's kinda like a game of chess that you can see where their eyes are going or where their pieces are.

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them.
I use General, II, GE&T, F&NI and A&F. I hang around P2TM aquite a bit, but I'm still trying to get the ins and outs figured out.

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like?
I like the fact that it exists and how I can met people who have similar intrests.

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM?
Nothing that I can see needs fixing, so I don't see a reason to change anything.

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why?
I think that I'm above average in posting on all of the forums, except GE&T. Still trying to figure that one out.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer?
1 thing. That a good RPer loves their Characters so much that they can feel like they're in the RP and having fun. That's the best thing in my opinion. However, an Imagination wouldn't hurt.

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS?
Not a lot, due to lack of people who share the same interests. Seriously I guess I only just started once I found NS through a buddy (Padnak) a while before last Christmas.

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS?
I started with a bang. As soon as I made an account, my friend and I made a "small" RP hoping to just learn. One day there was 13 posts, the next 2 pages and eventually we had 9 pages, as I only had less then 500 posts.

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which?
I talk with one via FB and just talking IRL, but otherwise I use Telegrams.

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer?
Wel, my first group of Rpers, we all mutually benefited from each other and all got the hang of RPing together, but I kinda stepped up my A-game once I saw some of the bigger names and their posts, such as Transoxthraxia and Monfrox.

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why?
I'm only actively posting in one, due to IC reasons or the RP flopping in the OOC stages and I'm actively enjoying it.
It's Kassaran's "430th ODST: Hell's Angel"s. I like it and I'm having a lot of fun.

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English?
I was great, but some of it is slipping due to French School. I had to ask a dude from Quebec what "scarf"(foulard) was in English, as I asked him the question in French.

20) Do you visit General? If so, why?
A little bit whenever an interesting topic comes up. It isn't my home-town though. I tend to post on things that grab my attention or I know a bit about.

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe?
Not a lot, but I'll show up in the feed from time to time.

22) What's your country of origin? (optional)
Canada!

23) Ethnicity (optional)
Dutch/English

24) Religion (optional)
I'm agnostic, but my family celebrates Christian Holidays, such as Christmas.

25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by?
Anything and everything. My most recent idea for an RP is an assault on a Militarized Bagger 288, But that's a different story.

26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP?
Someone who isn't bossy, yet knows thier stuff. I do like it when they let me control my NPC adversaries though. Not this "just shoot and we'll tell you if you killed 'em" thing.

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
Character, by far. In both preference and skill. Nothing wrong with nation or faction RPs, it's just not as much my cup of tea.

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting.
Usually end up with the same general group of people, funnily enough. But I'm fine with whoever.

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed?
Semi-open, I guess. It's nice to have some good checking for weeding out bad characters, but it's always important to have enough for the RP not to die.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction?
I generally prefer concrete canons, since open stuff can lead to nasty bickering if there's one bad apple.

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not.
I'm fine with both.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid?
I'm fine with anything, but I personally like it when things are numbered, but I like P&P so I'm a bit biased. The numbers help keep people in check.

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs?
If done well, yes. But it's not my thing due to nation/faction RPs not being my cup of tea.

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them.
I occasionally go on NSG or participate in F7, but it's usually just what's on the sidebar.

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like?
I'm enjoying it so far. I don't seem to recall it being here when I first joined, but that was a long time ago and I took a few years off before coming back. Maybe I just didn't remember it being here. Anyways, I'm liking it but a few specific people (whom I will not name) tend to bring trouble wherever they go, even if they don't intend to. But for the most part, it's pretty cool here.

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM?
A bit less of a specific hand-full of people who tend to bring trouble, but other than that, I'd say it's nice here. Also, maybe a few less of the overused RPs.

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why?
Worse due to not being as experienced. I'm trying, though.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer?
Only does things that the character would do and has the character act with only their information, and generally have the character be a person and not be a device to "win" the RP.

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS?
I've been RPing for a few years in different formats. My first RPing was during my short first stay at NS, but I've done quite a bit of message-based RPing and RPing in certain games since then.

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS?
Cooperative OPs and co-OPs, mostly.

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which?
Nope.

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer?
Shoutout to Wolfenium for helping me settle back into forum-based RPing, even if he didn't know that when I first came into his thread. Yer awesome, bruh.

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why?
*rubs mustache* I only know the ones I'm in, so I'll stick with those. My favorite one is either "EarthQuest" or "To Kill a God". I'm having a blast playing an eccentric fanboy in the former and an absolute blast playing a "never shuts up or stops spouting references" butthead in the latter.

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English?
Native tongue. So I'd say pretty fluent.

20) Do you visit General? If so, why?
I usually end up clicking on General threads when they pop up on the sidebar and occasionally respond. But I don't go into General itself looking around, if that's what you're asking.

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe?
Nope.

22) What's your country of origin? (optional)
'Murica

23) Ethnicity (optional)
Whiter than mayo dancing terribly in a snuggie.

24) Religion (optional)
N/A: Atheist

25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by?
I see things like old songs or some kind of game or some other media, and I'll go "god damn I need to use that somewhere somehow" or "wow that is totally something [X] would say".

26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP?
One who can cooperate, be inventive, think on their feet, and resolve conflicts without making everyone mad.

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
I kind of like both, really. Although I personally prefer to create a well-fleshed-out character, then roll with him (with variations) for several roleplays.

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting.
I RP casually, with a bunch of different people. I'm in a sort-of-but-not-really RP region, we don't really RP, but we don't play The Game either.

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed?
Semi-open.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction?
Open and fluid interaction.

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not.
If it's kept reasonable.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid?
?

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs?
Yes.

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them.
I use II, mostly. I don't really RP on NationStates that much.

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like?
So far, I like it.

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM?
I don't know.

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why?
I have no idea. I'm guessing worse, since I don't RP a whole lot.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer?
Someone who is reasonable, who is mature, who uses grammar, and who has fun.

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS?
I haven't been roleplaying very long, but I RPed a lot outside of NS.

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS?
I don't know yet.

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which?
No, unless the roleplay is within an actual game, in which case I use side chat.

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer?
Don't really know.

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why?
So far? I'm following Burial in the Snow, despite not being in it. That's a good RP so far.

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English?
Quite fluent, despite it being my second language.

20) Do you visit General? If so, why?
Not unless I get dragged in by one of the forum posts in the nation page sidebar

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe?
No.

22) What's your country of origin? (optional)
N/A

23) Ethnicity (optional)
N/A

24) Religion (optional)
N/A

25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by?
I mostly RP post-apocalyptic scenarios, and it's generally life within that universe as a result.

26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP?
A good OP is well-thought-out, has depth to it, can can be taken many different ways.

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
I've done both character and nation rps, and while I'd like to think that I'm better at nation rps, I mostly enter character rps these days. I particularly like alt-history and worldbuilding/ creation rps.
2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting.
I tend to rp with a wide variety of players, but I find that Lunas Legion seems to be close by whenever I enter a character rp.
3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed?
Open, since I've never been invited to a closed or applied to a semi-open.
4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction?
Definitely more fluid. It allows for a greater range of possibilities and it lets ideas in that the OP couldn't have thought of alone.
5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not.
Depends on the setting. If it makes sense in context, I'm all for it, but gratuitous anachronisms and the like do throw me off. 6)
Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid?
As above stated, fluid everything allows for more interesting things to happen than a set in stone cap can allow.7)
Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs?
They can be fun, but they tend to die quickly and with low quality posts.
8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them. I very rarely pop into II for something that catches my eye. Other than that, no.
9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like?I haven't seen a new rp that really catches my fancy in a few weeks, but I'm pretty sure it's because there's a lot of good ones ongoing right now that everyone is involved in. Other than that, it seems to be full steam ahead with clear skies and calm seas around here.
10) What would you like to see change in P2TM?
Nothing really. Everything seems to be in order from my perspective.
11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why? I'd say I'm about a tick above average. There are many, many players who are far better than I, but there are also plenty who either don't have the experience or the knowledge to keep up with some of us. I certainly don't feel like I have a reputation, but I'd say I do decently enough.[/b]
2) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer?
Good grammar and spelling firstly, although I'll let a lot slide compared to some. Past that, propensity for godmodding and general ridiculousness, followed by the quality of their interaction with other players, both OOC and IC. You can be an excellent player with the most powerful and realistic faction/character in the rp, but if you treat other players like crap OOC, I'm not going to think highly of you either way.
13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS?
I started roleplaying on some of my older nations, so since around 2011. I didn't really involve myself in roleplay before that, and really I still don't.
14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS?
Trial and error. Constructive critism was also a big factor, and I learned by watching those who I was rp'ing with and asking myself what I could do to be more like that.
16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which ones? None.
17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer?
I've long seen Alleniana as a good example, and Lunas Legion was also someone I looked up to. I also frequent the greatest posts thread to try and learn from those.
18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why?
Currently, my favorite to read is the 1836 Tale of Empires thread, but the best that I was ever involved in was the original FOE rp.
19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English?
It's my native language, so I would hope rather well.
20) Do you visit General? If so, why?
Unfortunately, yes. The best of us get bored sometimes.
21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe?
I do not, although I've been meaning to for quite some time.
22) What's your country of origin? (optional)
United States of America
24) Religion (optional)
Athiest
25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by?
Current events, as well as historical ones, are largely where I draw my inspiration from, although I have eventually made most of my characters into a slightly more happy-go-lucky version of me.
26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP?
As for the post, a good OP should be detailed, clear and concise. It should have an application that is also detailed, and preferably one that will take more than three minutes to fill out. It should be at least somewhat original (unless it is the continuation or reboot of a previous rp) and should definitely tell me enough about what I'm roleplaying that any questions I ask should be minor details or nitpicks.

As for the poster, a good OP is at least somewhat active, listens to what people want, is fluid and adaptable, is willing to make changes, and picks co-ops on more grounds than that they are his friends.

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
Nation RP's seem to be more interesting. I'd suggest maybe splitting the two categories, as many people enjoy character RP as well.

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting. I prefer to RP with people I know, but alas, it tends not to be the case.

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed? Semi-open, as in applications or invitations required.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction? Set concrete canons that can be changed through gameplay. That always seems most enjoyable, preferably.

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not. I believe that each RP should have a set tech-level and that mixing it should require a good and well-thought reason.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid? I prefer each nation makes up its own stats.

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs? Yes, absolutely to both.

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them. I tend to only use P2TM.

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like? I am enjoying it, but there is a keen lack of very good Alternate History and large scale nation RP's that are open and available. By the time you see one worth joining, it's a revamp and only four or five countries are left; completely undesirable in general purpose. I want more viable world RP's, more Steampunk nation RP's, and more Alternate History RP's!

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM? Separating character RP and nation RP, and maybe categorizing more into sections. Sub-forums for different kinds of threads! Organize!

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why? Better; mostly because I have a good tendency of staying realistic and making multiple-paragraph posts. Excellent grammar and spelling also atop my list.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer? Good grammar, spelling, fluency in the English language, long detailed posts (As long as they aren't superfluous...), realistic posts, easy to talk to, negotiable, knowledgeable, and intelligent.

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS? I've been RP'ing for years and acting outside of the internet for even longer. And yes, I did.

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS? Reading through other people's threads and continuing to develop my nation(s).

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which? Nope.

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer? I can't really say anyone in particular.

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why? My favorite kind is AHRP (Alternate History RP.) or anything that involves global conflict where I get to be creative and custom.

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English? Completely so.

20) Do you visit General? If so, why? For the purpose to browse what other people have to say and to look at other interesting threads.

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe? Negative.

22) What's your country of origin? (optional) Russia.

23) Ethnicity (optional) Slavic.

24) Religion (optional) None.

25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by? SeriousRP like on Gmod (HL2RP, FNVRP, MLTRYRP...) and other games.

26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP? A long detailed opening statement and/or thesis. A good detailed explanation of the canon and of the situation. Usage of pictures and descriptive words. OOC note explaining the concept again and a long list of features the RP will include. Rules, applications, and facts down below. A player list and a good map as well.

None so far.

Black Mesa Islands! (Pretty much the best Region ever...)

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
I don't have too much experience with either, but I think any good nation RP will devolve into a character one.

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting. When I RP, I have no control over who I RP with.

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed? Semi-open. I prefer RPs with an entry bar so high, I feel honored to be there.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction? Obviously the canon has to be fluid enough to allow us to act and react, but I have no problem with a story-based RP.

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not. I think mixing tech levels will always be a doomed prospect because there has to be some kind of counterbalance, which usually becomes awkward and forced. I do not participate in RP's with cat-people or ponies.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid? I have yet to see an RP with statistics.

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs? Sure, there's merit, but I don't have anywhere near enough patience to participate.

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them. I only use Portal to the Multiverse.

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like? I've been dropping in and out, and I haven't seen anything that I think would be a good match for me for about a month or two now.

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM? More lovecraftian and steampunk RPs would be fantastic.

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why? I consider myself a better roleplayer than most posters grammatically and contextually, but I usually make short-ish posts, which can be seen as a bad thing.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer? Perfect english and awareness of what other people are doing. Posts are short enough to be readable, deep enough to advance the plot without stepping on toes.

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS? Never on forums. I've been on NS for about half a year.

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS? Some posts by the RP gurus really helped my RPing style.

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which? No, unfortunately.

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer? I can't remember the names, but several people have posted absolutely wonderful RPing guides.

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why? I currently have no favorite.

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English? Native speaker, very fluent.

20) Do you visit General? If so, why? Not unless I see an interesting thread in the sidebar that takes me there.

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe? What? No.

22) What's your country of origin? (optional) America.

23) Ethnicity (optional) Caucasian.

24) Religion (optional) Atheist.

25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by? I get inspired by desktop backgrounds.

26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP? Communicates with the players about what they are trying to achieve, accommodates for their goals and ideas, and never gives up on the thread.
Idealists and idiots should have as little power as possible.

All hail the Pumpkin God!

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
I favor nation RPs, but I have to say that I'm a better character RPer.

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting. I'm in an RP region (Atlas), so I generally RP with the same people, but not always. RP partners: Republic of Coldwater, Organized States

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed? Depends on who joins. If it's open and great RPers join, I have no problem. If poor RPers join, or if we're getting too far into the story for anyone else to join, then I would prefer it to be closed.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction? Open, fluid interaction

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not. If it's something like an alien invasion RP, then fine, but otherwise, no.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid? Fluid.

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs? Yes.

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them. II, NS

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like? I enjoy the immense creativity and RP skills people have here. I prefer RPing in II because I like to use my nation, but the RPs just aren't as creative. If the people in P2TM could carry their skills over to II, that would be amazing.

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM? Not sure. I don't come here as often.

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why? Again, I don't come here often, so I'm not so sure. From the RPs I've participated in, I'd say I'm in the middle.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer? Detail in posts, creativity, knowledge.

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS? I started RPing in June of this year. I didn't RP before joining NS.

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS? RP guides and RPing with great RPers.

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which? No.

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer? TriStates, Heldur

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why? Destiny: In the Traveler's Light. I like it because it's a character RP where you are put in teams and have to work together. The teams work together as well.

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English? Very fluent.

20) Do you visit General? If so, why? Yes, because I get to learn things about the world and have (usually) peaceful debates with people.

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe? No

22) What's your country of origin? (optional)

23) Ethnicity (optional)

24) Religion (optional)

25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by? RP guides and, for character RPs, books, movies, and games.

26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP?
Containing:
- Detailed description of the RP - especially for a war RP - explaining the parties to the conflict, a background to the conflict, and the current status of the conflict
- Detailed app and example
- Clear rules
- Map (if applicable)
- Clear, easy to read, good structure

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?

Definitely Character. RPing nations always feels awkward for me

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting.
Some. I like to RP with Atria, for starters, along with Sithian Korriban, The Starlight, and The Templar High Council. My region, the Sovereign Charter, is also full of people I like to RP with, even if they do prefer II.

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed?
Semi-open

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction?
Open and fluid. It allows for more diversity and fun

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not.
MOAR!

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid?
Fluid. More freedom to RP then capped and static ones.

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs?
I'm indifferent to this

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them.
Sometimes. I am in a few II RPs, but they are all just regional ones. I go on F7, NSG, and a few others to chat as well

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like?
It's awesome. I like how it has a good community with many interesting RPs to choose from

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM?
More help for the newbz

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why?
I'd say that I am worse. I did only join NS recently, and my posts aren't as long or detailed as others.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer?
Fair, nice to others, willing to help, stays inside of limits they set for their character, act out weaknesses, stay true to a personality, and have long, detailed, but easily understandable posts

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS?
I did do forum RPs before NS, but not much. Most of them weren't very organized, and the ones that did have organization were either strictly professional and realistic about everything or simply far, far too large. I have been doing tabletop RPing for far longer. I don't know how many years I have been playing DnD and Star Wars Saga Edition, only that it is a lot.

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS?
Watching others RP

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which?
Yes, I use IRC

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer?
Monfrox, Qeno, and Xing in particular have helped a lot by providing good examples on good posts. I would also like to recognize Atria by providing nice, easy RPs to get started in P2TM with.

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why?
Might, Magic, and Machines, by Atria. I like it because of all the freedom it presents, for starters, but also the interesting deal with tech mixing and the clash between magic and technology.

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English?
Native Speaker

20) Do you visit General? If so, why?
Yes. Mainly to just chat with others

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe?
No

22) What's your country of origin? (optional)
'Merica

23) Ethnicity (optional)
Caucasian

24) Religion (optional)
Atheist

25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by?
I mostly get inspired by anime or artwork. Video games are a close second.

26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP?
Long, detailed, and easily explainable.

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?
For me it would definitely be character RP's because I haven't tries a nation RP.

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting.
I find myself with the same general group give or take a few and am a member of The Council of The Multiverse region and group, so that probably explains why it tends to be the same people.

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed?
I'm happy however they are.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction?
I'm pretty cool with both.

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not.
I like playing as a non-human more than a human. I find humans to be the duller race out of most options.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid?
I like having a peak limit, so an ability of immense power that can only be used in the direst of situations.

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs?
I don't really do either of them so I guess not.

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them.
No just P2TM for me.

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like?
Yep, I am enjoying all the RP's I am in and the friends I've made.

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM?
Nothing really.
11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why?
Eh, I guess I am average.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer?
Someone who can write long fluid posts with perfect power usage and knows when to interact with other characters.

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS?
I did and still do tabletop, but at the recommendation of The Templar High Council I started with the forums on NS. Time isn't something that I pay attention to though, so I'm not sure how long.

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS?
Eh, I guess I just worked it out myself, by reading and so on.
16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which?
No, not really.

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer?
The Templar High Council got me started and The Council of The Multiverse inspired me to learn properly.
18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why?
Currently, Destiny: In The Traveller's Light, it helps get over that the game was ruined by Activision.
19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English?
I was born to an English speaking family, so extremely I would say.
20) Do you visit General? If so, why?
I don't actually understand this question, so I guess it's a no.
21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe?
No, I looked a few times, but never actually used.
22) What's your country of origin? (optional)
Australia
23) Ethnicity (optional)
Caucasian
24) Religion (optional)
I believe there is a deity, but not as a single god.
25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by?
Mostly just events going on in the RP, I try to keep the flow going.
26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP?
Someone with simple, easy to follow rules, that is there to keep you having fun.

The human sacrificed himself, to save the Pokemon. I pitted them against each other, but not until they set aside their differences did I see the true power they all share deep inside. I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

1) What kind of RPs do you like? Are you better with character or nation RPs?

Character

2) Do you tend to RP with the same people, or do you RP with a variety of people. Are you in an RP region, and if so, which? List any recent RP partners that are worth noting.

I tend to RP with the same groups of people due to common interests, I'm not part of a P2TM RP Region, and recent notable RP Partners are Monfrox, The Carlisle, Xing, and most anyone else from GAMA.

3) Do you prefer your RPs open, semi-open, or closed?

Whichever keeps the heat going.

4) Do you prefer to RP in set groups with concrete canons, or do you prefer more open, fluid interaction?

I feel there should be somewhat Hardset canon in terms of the universe's limitations and the technological advancement scale. However, I cannot say without knowing what type of RP it is which I require or request when in open-world scenarios where all main physical limitations and genre applications have been named.

5) Describe your thoughts on mixing tech level, and sapient non-humans and what not.

I'm fine with whatever for the most part so long as it is a good and compelling story.

6) Do you prefer gameplay stats, capped, or fluid?

I like fluid RPing. I feel stats and capping tend to break immersion and to an extent how the flow of the RP goes. If one cannot RP accurately nor edit when they fail to do so, they likely shouldn't be RPing in the first place.

7) Do you see merit in competitive war roleplaying? Or in Alternate Reality nation RPs?
I see some merit in terms of forcing players to look closely and use their minds to think out their actions for fear of undesirable consequences if they fail to do so. It makes one more cautious and careful when writing and furthermore it forces them into a mindset they might not take on often. Same with nation RPs though I feel P2TM is best used on much smaller scale projects and not nation-sized RPs.

8) Do you use other NS RP forums (i.e. GE&T, II, F&NI, NSSPorts, NS), or do you solely use P2TM? If so, list them.

I use II and soon hopefully the Nation Information forum. I also hope to open a shop front for small arms in the NS Economy forum sometime later this year.

9) What do you think of P2TM right now? Are you enjoying it? What do you like, and what don't you like?

I honestly can't find much wrong with it, it's a friendly enough community.

10) What would you like to see change in P2TM?

More people and interest in scifi oriented RPs... But that's for selfish reasons.

11) Do you consider yourself to be better or worse at roleplaying than most posters in P2TM? Why?

I consider myself to be an avid writer, though many have told me otherwise and that I often carry on into nonsensical drivel that loses them early on.

12) What criteria do you use to define a good roleplayer?

Can they make a believable story? Can they write fluidly? Do they have problems understanding the grammatical conventions of their chosen language or are they perfectly fluent?

13) How long have you been roleplaying? Did you RP before you joined NS?

I've only been RPing since I joined NS about a year or so ago...

14) What most effectively helped you learn to RP on NS?

Practice and lots of Criticism, and I'm not going to lie when I say it was rough, but then again I usually brought it on myself as is habit.

16) Do you use internet relay chat, IRC, or similar messengers to communicate with RPers? If so, which?

I use Skype if that counts...

17) Who, if anyone, has been especially helpful to you as a roleplayer?

I think I can attribute most of my success to simply the Mentors and closely watching those around me who messed up and got called out for it...

18) What's your favourite rp in P2TM and why?

Right now that'd be GAMA because it is an RP I have taken time to invest in and anxiously look forward to seeing what awaits it.

19) How fluent would you consider yourself in English?

Very.

20) Do you visit General? If so, why?

Because sometimes the spectacles to behold there are just too good to be true... It allows me to vent if I truly want to be honest about this. I usually don't give a rat's ass about the subject, but I'll still try and argue for or against it passionately to get out whatever pent up feelings are within, and to be honest, it sometimes scares me what I say.

21) Do you use the Traveller's Cafe?

Yusss

22) What's your country of origin? (optional)

United States of America

23) Ethnicity (optional)

White, Spaniard-Italian-Australian-Irish. Odd mix right?

24) Religion (optional)

Identify as Christian, non-denom...

25) What informs your RPing mostly? What do you get inspired by?

Music, anime, movies, videogames, and my own imagination generally paint the stories for me, I then just go about writing everything I see in spite of how odd or strange it might seem.

26) What criteria do you use to define a good OP?

They're strong individuals who hold to their ideals and while I might not agree with their ideals, or hold some of their decisions to be unjust or unfair, they'll stick to their guns because it's what they know best, but when the time comes, they also will listen to what their Co-ops and posters have to say to them as well and will always work towards a positive and beneficial compromise or solution.
