Motoneuron wrote:"Sorry, My species doesn't usually use cigarettes" Ki said as he contemplated the situation, looking around at all of the people gathered around, wondering why she had mentioned the ponies separately "Ponies? What are those?"
He still wasn't quite sure about this situation, he wanted to know more. He focused his attention back to her.
"Is there anyone here who I could ask more about this place?" He asked curiously.

The BranRiech wrote:"For fuck's sake, Rylli. You're my wife." Bran snarled, getting angry himself. Whatever made her act like this was really pissing him off. Even if this wasn't the woman he was currently married to, she was still his girlfriend, he guessed. "Put the gun down, Rylli." He said. "If I'm one of the Drones, it won't even hurt me, but if you shoot me and kill me, how would you feel, how would Rachelle feel?"
This was definitely the Rylli from the original timeline or something of the sort, but what had occurred after they abandoned that timeline that ended up with this?

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination.

He was glad that everyone seemed willing to cooperate, as he didn't particularly feel like shooting someone less then an hour after arriving at his new home. He would if he had to, of course, he didn't really care that much, he would just prefer not to have to. "Do any of you know how many people might still be inside?" He asked, looking from one to the other through the eyes of his suit. For him, his vision was basically just perfectly normal, but to anyone else, it would look nearly impossible to see out of the helmet, due to the lack of obvious eye holes.
Wolfgang relaxed when people seemed to want to cooperate, and cautiously padded up to them, sniffing at them, trying to see if he could detect anything off from any of them with his dog senses. As far as he could tell, they all seemed fine to him, but as he didn't know their normal scents, nor whether or not the shapeshifters could mimic scents exactly, it was hard to know for sure.

The sword seemed to hang lower in its sheath than normal. An impossibility, of course, as it was neither sentient nor animate.
Dora, noting her Sister's perturbation, nodded casually at Dan. "Don't worry, she's not mad at you, just frustrated. She'll get over it pretty quick, cheerful as she ever is." The redhead, still sitting against the wall bouncing her leg up and down restlessly, turned her head slowly to regard Raka.
"Mate, there's no window...and if I were you, I'd be more worried about the giant wolf hanging out over there, next to the guy with the sniper rifle." She glanced from Todesfall, Leroy, and Wolfgang to Ray, Albert, and Jacob. "At least the humanoid cats and fox are friendly, most of the time," she drawled. "Not to mention our resident Fae over here." Another nod in Dan's direction. "He's one of my favorite residents, even though we haven't talked much. The bug creature" - here she gestured to Ki - "I haven't met before." She squinted, looking him up and down.
"I do apologize," Dan said anyway to Chrys, "I reacted in haste... that shifter looked hauntingly accurate, almost as though that would have been me if I were part of Winter," he shivered visibly at the memory of it, "I did not want to find out what it could do if we had to confront it." Turning to smile at Dora, "Thank you Dora, that's very kind of you. Perhaps after this we can talk a little more, without the shifters and that brown giant," he almost chuckled but stopped short as remembered the Klingon was in there, and so was Hans and Rudolf and the Fae's features turned more apologetic, "I hope Hans is okay, he was with us and so was Rudolf. Should we go back in?"

Dora laughed outright at that. "My friend? Not half! We've had our tangles back and forth. But she is the sister of an ex, so I try to look out for her."
The ex-Conservator pushed off the wall and climbed to her feet. "Come on, bug man. I'll introduce you all later, maybe. For now, there might be a fight on our hands. This was bad. Sure, the medicine would help, but Torii was terrified of needles. She wouldn't even use it on her arm right now, which was saying something. It was better for her to take her mind off of it, and see what was up. "Hey, never mind my arm.", She told Flint. "Let's ask and find out what's happening here. Why were there shape shifters in our apartment building, at our party?"

He looked them over the two as he walked towards them, wondering how good they were in combat, seeing as how she had mentioned a battle.
"Greetings, I am Ki'Rek" He said as he reached them " You can call me Ki"

Daddy has some work he needs to get done back on Gliese. And I promise, I will bring back a gift for you and Sydney, one that you both will love very much." Thriller braced his arm on his leg and used it to push himself up on his two feet again.
Siduer giggled and fell back on the bed. The only thing better than winning something was being told you'd get a gift you'd totally love. He was glad Sydney was still asleep because she'd probably ask for something stupid, like a llama.
"Llama, llama, llama," he sung under his breath and then turned his head to grin at his father. "Okay, Daddy. But hurry back soon, 'cause you're missing out on good stuff like birthdays."
Ah, technically the twins' birthday was on March 1st but their handler had quite forgotten it. So, this is just a clever reminder to Thriller's handler that he has until the 29th of April... which is after AIT graduation on the 18th and grants him ten days at home to "get the lead out", so to speak. Honestly, man, it's not as if ol' Charumati is expecting chocolates and a diamond. I mean, hey, she's dead. She's not expecting anything. Well, perhaps something, but certainly not anything to do with diamonds or chocolates. Rather, let's just leave it as her handler hopes to accomplish something chatted about before the 28th in order to make the 29th more interesting for all parties involved. Charumati's handler, however, would like chocolates... preferably those chewy caramel ones that are wrapped in milk chocolate and then further wrapped in gold foil. That is, if Thriller's handler hasn't eaten them all out of stress and boredom. Perhaps Charumati's handler should send him a bag instead? She's not actually allowed to eat chocolate, according to her endocrinologist. And thus this pointless ramble comes to end with one parting gift.
Ahem.
"Okay, Daddy. But hurry back soon," Siduer grinned at his father. The boy snuggled back into his pillow and closed his eyes.

Mincaldenteans wrote:Mezran grumbled at the thought of retreat. Call it any way one preferred it, 'get out', 'move out,' 'run,'. To Klingons it was retreating and that went against Mezran's entire existence. His people won battles or died honorably in attempt, and never had they had to swallow defeat without humiliating their enemies first or making them pay dearly before conceding. Much of their losses came from such single-minded thinking; particularly in the Empire's last war. It was a human, the Klingon captain recalled, that once said it wasn't "retreating" so much as it was "advancing in the opposite direction". He wondered if there perhaps was a greater plan to containing these shifters and so the Klingon obliged to obey. Mezran let his last swing take out a few more tribbles before spitting at it, mumbling curses under his breath while he made his way backward in slow retreat to the hallway slowly. With Rudolf close to him, there was no worry about exposed flanks or deceptive creatures to ensnare them, at least Mezran felt with some surety of it. He would rather they did do something underhanded because this simply was worse: it was slipping away from battle.
"I will return, you filthy yIntagh! And I will finish what you've started! By Kahless himself, I will dance upon your dead body and feast upon you!" He promised and spat on the ground, turning his back against from the darkened room, shoving his way through the dining hall doors in sure steps. "This is not over," he said menacingly toward Rudolf, though the aggravation was clearly not intended toward the man.

No word of apology for pointing guns at them, no explanation, nothing.
Wolfgang was much happier then Leroy was about it being determined that it was safe for people to go. He wagged his tail and let his tongue loll out, walking over to the group who had been kept waiting. He wagged his tail at them, and simply stood there, tongue lolling out and tail wagging happily.

This was not normally the time nor place to get to know people. But that did not cross Kale's mind.

"I don't know where he is right now." Mortimer wondered about some words of reassurance, but he could never get those right. He had no knack for being optimistic, and what started out as reassurance came out in a way that made things seem bleaker. He had not become acquainted with the larger pony yet, and had no idea of his capabilities.
