In 2015 the world made a discovery of a mineral that jumped technology forward, called Maglium. Laser guns and arm-computers became common, as well as various other things that a lot of people imagined would only be found in Sci-fi movies. Space travel was a long way off, though. This new mineral became a common part of life by 2016. In 2017 things started changing. People started changing. Some would get pointy ears and become more lean and elegant, while others would get shorter and rounder. Some people remained unaffected by these changes. Animals started mutating as well. Some lizards gained wings, though none gained the ability to breathe fire or got super big. Some horses gained horns and magical abilities, while others gained wings. Other animals also changed in various ways. Desperate to find out why, Scientists conducted extensive research. They discovered that this new Mineral gave off a new type of radiation, and in having dug it up they released it, and now there was no way to get rid of it. While it changed people, it wasn't life-threatening. People had mixed opinions on this, and tensions started to rise. Protests started against the use of Maglium in making products, some peaceful, some violent. In 2018, scientists discovered that if Maglium was injected into someone's bloodstream, it would give the user extraordinary 'magical' abilities. The amount of Maglium injected affected how powerful the persons abilities were, but too much and the subject would die, and it didn't work for everyone. Tensions worsened. On one side people loved Maglium and all that it did, radiation included, and were racing out to get these new powers, on the other side you had the people who hated Maglium and everything it did. They preferred technology over 'magic'. In 2019, a great war broke out. 'Magic' vs Technology. In 2021 the Dragons appeared. Four of them, each with different traits. They were deemed Famine, Pestilence, War and Death. This should have been a warning. In 2023, the apocalypse started. Extreme weather conditions brought on by both Magic and Technology forced the war to end. People fought to survive, both sides forced together in equal powerlessness against the devastating forces of nature that they had brought on. Neither had a solution, or the power to stop the apocalypse. So they waited it out any way they could. In 2026 the Apocalypse ended, the human population greatly decreased. People from both sides came out of bunkers and the various places they had managed to survive in. Cities were destroyed, reduced to hardly more then piles of rubble. Cars no longer worked, power stations were destroyed. What was left of the world was a post-apocalyptic wasteland, and people still struggled to survive. In 2027 a peace treaty was made between Magic users, or Maglium Users as they were called, and the Technological side, vowing that never again would they fight. There was still some tension between some of the more extreme of the sides, but even they knew the dangers of another war was too great. In 2028, towns started popping up. Just small towns. For some reason, no matter what people tried, electricity and cars refused to work. Situations like this also meant that the world became dangerous, and groups of Raiders and Bandits roamed the roads. In 2029 scientists discovered that the four Dragons of the Apocalypse, as they called them, were responsible for why the power would not come on. They discovered that if someone were to kill to four dragons, power would return and the world could begin to heal. In 2030, a group set out to do just that.
You are this group.
You are this group.
The world is now a wasteland. Food is scarce and there's danger at every turn. 'Elves' (The people who were physically changed to be leaner and have pointed ears) and 'Dwarves'(The people who were changed to be shorter and rounder) are commonplace in the new world, just as much as humans. Elves are more agile and are a better shot with either a gun or a bow then normal humans, while Dwarves are stronger and better with large melee weapons then normal humans. However, all three live a normal human lifespan.
Cities are destroyed, and typically places that people avoid, due to unstable rubble and the Bandit gangs that roam them. Electricity doesn't work, but the Laser guns and Energy blades still do, though bows and swords of steel are more common now.
Draco, or Winged Lizards, are common pets, as they are completely harmless and the perfect size to sit on your shoulder or lap. Not to mention their lovable demeanor. Unicorns an Pegasus are also pretty common now, and people are seen riding them quite a lot. They're also seen roaming in herds with normal horses.
The Four Dragons of the Apocalypse roam the world freely, causing havoc wherever they go. People dread the sight of them.

The Four Dragons of the Apocalypse
War

War can breathe fire that is like magma. Hardly anyone survives his attack, and normal all that's left is smoldering ruins.
Pestilence.

Pestilence brings sickness and disease wherever he goes. The towns he attacks usually succumb to sickness within a month after the attack.
Famine

Famine brings...well, famine. Crops die around him, and he usually kills peoples cattle if they have any. The towns Famine attacks are the most likely to survive, depending on how far away they are from another town where they may be able to trade for food.
Death

Death brings death wherever he goes. No one ever survives his attacks, as he brings a sort of aura of death with him. He is also the most passive, and will mostly just sort of fly around, avoiding places where people have settled.
The maglium users, or The Maglium, get one of four elemental powers. When they get injected with the Maglium, they get unique markings on their arms, depending on what type of power they have. It is also still possible to get injected with Maglium after the Apocalyspe, so people who were born during or after the apocalypse can still get powers.
It is possible for a Maglium user to get markings on their face as well as their arms, but this is extremely rare. Their eyes also have the potential to change colors.
I will only allow a limited amount of High Power Maglium users
Types:
Fire: Grants the ability to create fire from nothing, and to cast fireballs. They can also heat up surfaces.
Power Levels:
High Power: The subject is able to cast long streams of fire from their hands, as well as large fireballs that make a small explosion on contact with anything solid. They can heat up any surface. They can heat up metals until they're red-hot. They wear out at a slow pace.
Medium power: They can cast long streams of fire for a short amount of time, and medium sized fireballs. They can heat up any surface but the very coldest. They wear out at a medium pace.
Low power: Low power subjects can cast short streams of fire for a medium amount of time, and small fireballs. They can heat up any surface that's not to cold, and wear out at a fast pace.
Markings: Fire: Fire Maglium users usually have red or orange flame-like markings. Their eyes can potentially turn red or orange after the injection, as well.
Poison: Grants the ability to secrete poison out of their hands, and create a poisonous fog.
Power Levels:
High Power: The user is able to secrete a deadly liquid poison out of their hands, and can create a poisonous fog that won't kill someone, but it will make them quite ill. They can choose who they affect with the fog. They tire at a slow pace.
Medium Power: The user is able to secrete a liquid poison out of their hands that will make the target dangerously ill, but not enough to kill them. They can also create a fog that will make someone sick, but kind of just like they have a cold. They can choose who they affect with the fog, and tire at a medium pace.
Low Power: The user is able to secrete a mild poison that is able to knock people out and make them feel ill, but not too bad. They can create a fog that makes people feel kind of woozy and nauseous but not particularly sick. They have no control over who they affect with the fog, and will affect anyone in the fog. They tire quickly.
Markings: Poison Maglium users typically get acid green swirly markings on their arms. Their eyes can potentially turn a light green after the injection, as well.
Nature: Grants the ability to make plants of varying sizes grow at varying speeds, as well as the ability to kill plants.
Power Levels.
High Power: The user is able to make nearly any plant, besides trees, grown almost instantaneously. Trees take about three days if the user puts all their energy into it. They can also kill plants instantly. They tire somewhat slowly.
Medium Power: The user is able to make small-medium plants grow within a day. Larger plants, such as small trees and vines, take about two days. Trees take about 5 at full energy. They can kill small-medium plants almost instantly, larger plants take about half a day and trees take about 3. They tire at a medium-fast pace.
Low Power: The user is able to make small plants grow in about 2 days, larger plants in 4 and trees in 10. They can kill small plants between a an hour in a day (Small flowers such and dandelions take and hour, plants such as rose bushes take a day), larger plants take about two days and trees take 6. They tire quickly.
Markings: Deep green vine-like markings typically cover their arms. Their eyes can turn a dark green after the injection, as well.
Life-force: Grants the ability to heal others, as well as to seriously weaken them. This ability is very very rare.
High Power: The user is able to bring people back from the brink of death and heal medium wounds. They can weaken people to the point where they can hardly stand. They tire at a medium pace.
Medium Power: The user is able to bring people back from the brink of death and heal minor wounds. They can weaken people enough that they find fighting hard. They tire quickly.
Low Power: The User is able to bring people back from the brink of death, but can't heal anything more then like, a paper cut, so their target is likely to just die anyway. They can weaken someone enough that they tire out more quickly then normal, but that's about it. They tire out almost instantly.
Markings: Life-Force Maglium users typically get silvery-white vein-like markings on their arms, and their eyes always turn either white or grey.
