I dont know how to do that. Maybe you can help me with that.

Quote a post normally. Instead of pressing 'sumbit' when you're done, you press your keyboard 'enter' button twice. Then, you scroll down. There is a scrollable list of the last 25 or so posts of the thread. Click the quote button of the one you want to quote, and respond normally. Then, press 'enter' twice and repeat the process until you finish all posts you want to quote.

Are you offering exports of ice?

Because that would be a serious luxury good way over here in Indochina.

Out of curiosity, how do you intend to progress with your nation? To my knowledge the Antarctic Peninsula doesn't have much in they way of your traditional resources for the Neolithic, let alone the Copper or Bronze or Iron Ages.

Well, the Polaris Ocean is actually quite rich in food; even primitive fishing and hunting should keep them fed, but they'll have bone weapons, and that's about it.

By some logic, 'could have'. But no one does.
I don't know the exact date of discovery, but it only applies for China and other Asian areas, anyways.

I guess. But that means everything would have to be the exact same for gunpowder to be invented in the same region by the same people. Because we have started to rewrite history, very little is 100% assured.

Indeed. Though, to be honest, we have no idea what historically led to the invention if black powder in the first place; there are no legends about it's creation, it merely appears in the historical record.

What could lead to someone combining saltpeter (normally obtained in tiny impure crystals from dung heaps) with charcoal and sulfur and then lighting it is beyond me.

So the inventor would most likely be an insane "scientist", who combined poop, charcoal, and sulfur and then lit it on fire. The odds of that happening are quite low, and too be honest, it could be well into the 1500's that gunpowder is invented.

Haven't really thought of exporting ice. Thanks for the idea.

And I'm guessing Ar'ami'x could survive thanks to fishing. We could export fish, whale meat and blubber, penguin meat, seal meat and blubber, crustaceans, etc.
I will think of the rest tomorrow when I start posting in the IC thread.

You can basically think of Ar'ami'x as Southern Inuits.

Getting saltpeter from manure isn't an easy process anyway though; you have to combine manure with the right proportions of charcoal and wood, leave it for about a year, keep it constantly wet with urine (for the nitrogen to combine into nitrate) and turn it over at carefully paced intervals in order for it to produce saltpeter crystals in usable quantities. You then need to leech the saltpeter out of the morass bias scourging with very hot water, and only then will you have several grams of usable saltpeter for combination into black powder.

You have to have a very obsessed very crazy man who very specifically got a lot of help and time on his hands.

Production from bat guano is far simpler, and traditional in Laos funnily enough.
