Pine Creek Stables (OOC OPEN/Remake)

This is an RP for the horse lovers of Nationstates (I'm not the only one, am I?). It's kind of an experiment, and if you love constant action-packed Rps, this isn't one for you, though there may be some slight 'action' sometimes. In this RP, you play as either a student at a riding stable or someone who is boarding a horse there but also rides there. It's kinda like the Saddle Club, in a way. I plan on having competitions, but I'm still working out how to do it well. I'm open to suggestions.

Rules:
1. No god-modding.
2. Try to keep it realistic. It doesn't have to be perfectly 100% realistic, but nothing too far-fetched.
3. NO one-liners. Three-four lines minimum.
4. Use proper punctuation and grammar. If English isn't your first language, I'll make an exception, but you do have to inform me of the fact.
5. Listen to the OP.

Preston obtained his horse from a foal when it was born on his grandfather's ranch. By personality the boy can be a bit hard headed and stubborn, not much of a romantic, but is an amazing gentlemen; becomes very frustrated around girls certainly one he has a crush on.
Extras: Country boy from Kentucky, has a slight accent. Loves superhero comics, God, and anything with the American flag on it. He is very conservative and prone to arguing with Fascists, Communists, and Liberals; but he is tolerable to anyone who tolerates him.

A hand is four inches.

I believe 17 hands is 5 foot 8. At least, that's what google said.

Name: Drake Dracone
Age: 16
Appearance: He has short, messy black hair that falls slightly in his eyes. Though his hair is messy, it doesn't look bad, and looks kind of styled that way. His eyes are a bluish green color. He usually wears black jeans, black boots with a small heel (like a riding heel), a black shirt and a black jacket. He is about 6 feet tall.
Bio: Drake was raised in a big family. He had 6 brothers and 5 sisters, plus his parents. He loved them all very much, and would go do stuff with them constantly. When he was about 6 years old, he was riding with his twin sister when, by a freak riding accident, he was injured and she was killed. They had been out in the woods alone, because for some reason their parents let them ride alone when they were 6. He lay out there for a while, in pain and barely conscious when he spotted it. A beautiful, young black horse coming toward him. It's coat was ragged and it's main was long and messy. There was no doubt this horse was wild. It came over to Drake and knelt down next to him. Drake barely managed to clamor aboard. The horse stood up and took him back to civilization, walking slowly so that he wouldn't fall off. They came across a farm house and the owner saw them, immediately calling for help. Once Drake was off the horse's back, it turned and ran back into the woods. As Drake was being taken to the hospital, he managed to tell the people about his sister, still out in the woods. He didn't know she was dead at the time. When he found out, he was obviously upset. He stopped riding out of fear, and eventually his parents sold his horse, Black Magic, because they couldn't afford to keep it if it wasn't being used. They kept his sister's horse, though, because they knew that she would never want them to sell her.

When he was 12 he was walking in the woods alone when he heard shouts nearby. He went to investigate and saw the horse that had helped him all those years ago. It was rearing and backed up against the cliff. In front of it were two apparently kind of crazy hermits with guns, pointing at it and complaining about something to do with trampled and eaten crops. Drake acted before he thought, and attacked the farmers. Amazingly, he managed to kick butt and send them running. Once that was done, he looked at the horse. The fear he felt every time he looked at a horse just wasn't there. The horse regarded him with a calm expression, even though it had been freaking out just seconds ago. It lowered it's head in an almost bow like fashion, then galloped off. Drake watched it go, then headed home, his mind full of thoughts of a black wild horse. He was fairly certain the horse had never been tame in it's life, so it's not like it was an escape horse, and if it was, it had escaped when it was young enough that probably all it knew was to be wild.

He didn't see the horse again for another two years, and when he did, it was the worst day of his life. His family had gone on a trip, and he had stayed behind to watch over the family dog. He didn't mind, he wasn't much of one for long trips, anyway. In probably the worst stroke of luck in the world, the plane that his family were flying home in crashed, killing all 13 of his family members. When he found out, at first he refused to believe it, but when he finally did, he couldn't take it. He ran out of the house and into the woods, taking his father's handgun with him. As he sobbingly raised it to his head, he heard hoofbeats, and turned just in time to be slightly plowed into by the horse. It wasn't enough to hurt him, but it was enough to knock him to the side and knock the gun out of his hands. He stared at the horse in surprise as the horse stood over the gun and regarded Drake with a calm expression. Sobbing, Drake put his arms around the horse' neck and buried his face in it's mane. This wild horse who lived in the woods with hardly any human socialization just sat there, letting Drake cry into his mane. Eventually he rode the horse home, and that was when he started riding again. The horse would always come when he whistled, though for the first few weeks it wouldn't really leave. He trained the horse, and the horse comforted him. It was always there for him when he was having a hard time. It even saved him from a second suicide attempt. The horse learned fast, and 2 years later he was fully trained in jumping, dressage, and cross country. Now that his family was gone, he lived in his family home, which had been paid off with cash a long time ago, all alone. It didn't have a stable, but the horse wandered in the forest until he called, so it didn't matter. Eventually he decided to try boarding the horse and taking lessons, which he payed for with his part time job working at a store.
Extras: He lets Shadowplay run around loose in the forest outside the stable sometimes. He's also able to pull off feats some people would see as impossible. Like laying backwards on his horse.
Skill Level: Intermediate

Extras: He's very wild when handled by anyone but Drake. He also won't move for bad riders. He's smart by horse standards. He's quite fast.

Name: Makayla Sylvian
Age: 17
Appearance: She has long medium-dark brown hair that reached to the middle of her thigh. She has dark, chocolate brown eyes and extremely pale skin. She usually wears basic jeans of varying color, varying types of shirts, usually dark colors and never a tank top, and a black sweatshirt if it's cold enough. Her shoes vary, but when she's at the stable she'll typically wear her black boots with buckles and a small heal that works for riding.
Bio: Makayla had a pretty boring life. Ever since she was about 7 or so, she dreamed of riding horses. The family owned a horse, but they could barely afford to board it, and no one rode it. Eventually, when she was like, 10, they sold the horse, since they had moved two states away and couldn't afford to board it anymore. At one point, when she was like, 12 or something, she managed to get in some riding lessons, about two, and some trail rides, but that was the extent of her horse riding, for lack of money. For 5 more years she dreamed of riding horses and taking care of a horse of her own, when eventually, her dad moved up in his job and finally, finally they could afford a horse and board. She was beyond happy. She now helps out part time at the stable for riding lessons in return.
Extras: She can drive, but just barely. She's not very comfortable with it yet, but she can get around. This is like me, apart from the last name and appearance....and actually owning a horse and whatnot.....It's my dream

Bio: Slater lived a somewhat rough life. It wasn't horrible, but it could have been better. His family was always poor, and at one point they even lost their house. His dad was a drunk, but never a violent one. He lost most of his money on gambling. Eventually his parents got divorced and he moved to a smallish town with his mom to start a new life. They succeeded. His mom started a business making clothes and makes quite a lot of money off of it, and eventually they could afford a beautiful horse, a horse that was like, his soul mate of a horse. They have a stable of their own, but his horse was lonely there so they decided to board her at a nearby stable, where she could meet other horses. After boarding and riding the horse there, Slater was offered a job teaching the students. He accepted.
Extras: Slater is easily distracted unless it comes to riding his horse. He is also beyond trusting and beyond nice. He's so nice some people might consider it awkward. He'll treat someone like a best friend as soon as he meets them.
Skill Level: Advanced.

Extras: She is like, the best horse anyone can have. She loves everything and everyone. She's the perfect horse for Slater. She's skilled at jumping, but puts the most effort into cross country and dressage.

Appearance:

Bio: Jake always had a sense for destruction and speed, a deadly mix. He started making firecrackers and other somewhat explosive stuff from a young age, and his family became worried about him. He played lots of racing games, and would go speeding around the yard in his little electrical kiddie car, until he was old enough to be able to reach the gas pedal and see out the window at the same time, at which time he would sometimes steal his parents car and go for a drive, surprisingly never having been caught in the act. Not long later, his parents, not being much of the type to follow rules themselves, bought him a dirt motorbike, telling him that he could use it in their big back yard, and there only, so no one could see that he was clearly not old enough to get a license. He had always dreamed of becoming a rally racer, and when he turned 18, his dream came true. He became a racecar driver. He did some derby, and ended up earning the nickname 'Carnage', which stuck when he went on to Rally Racing, because of his brutal racing style. One day he and another racer tied in Rallycross, and they got in a fight over who won, which was stupid because that was for the judges to figure out. No one other then the two in the fight know who started it, they just know that Jake was the one who ended up wining the fighter after nearly having killed the other guy. He claims it was self defense, but he was charged and given probation. For his probation he ended up having to work at the stable.
Extras: He knows absolutely nothing about horses. The only reason he's here is because he has to be.

Bio: Maisie is a very happy, social, friendly, kind, and energetic 14-year old girl who got a love for horses at a young age, but wasn't really capable of doing a lot until she was older. You could probably call her obsessed. She has horse posters on her wall, books, catalogs, and magazines about horses galore, along with a lot of stuff like clocks, clothes, and video games that are horse themed, or completely horse related. For example, she had watched her father play Red Dead Redemption, just because of the horses in the game.

When she hit 14, her parents surprised her with the best surprise she could ask for. Well, other then maybe being given her own personal horse. They said that they would let her regularly go to the nearby stables, and that they had signed her up for riding lessons there as well. She couldn't possibly be more excited and energetic in response. That same day they went out to get her a helmet, and appropriate riding gear. Not many days later that to her felt like an eternity, she arrived to the stables for her first real riding lesson.
Extras: Since she doesn't own a horse, she will be using one of the school horses. Despite her obsession, she has only rode a horse once in her life, when she was a lot younger. So while she has a lot of basic knowledge from her major horse reading, she still needs to learn how to take care of horses completely properly, and the same with riding because she has no experience at all.

While her main focus is show jumping, she wouldn't mind learning how to eventually do some of everything. Or most everything.

Since she wanted to get into it so badly at a rather young age, her parents decided to do exactly that for her, since they felt that getting your children into the things they loved early was a good idea. And she learned really fast, and while learning a lot of stuff with a trainer, there was a ton that she self-taught herself, like special ways to take care of the horses and calming them and whatnot. Her parents weren't nearly as horse crazy as her, so she couldn't really learn anything from them. But from all of this, she ended up getting to the point where she could TEACH other people (She tought her sister the basics, for example), and train horses. Mostly horses with weird behaviors. She didn't do this all the time, but every now and then she went out to peoples homes and worked with their horses.

But one day, her family had to move, and where she boarded her horse previously no longer worked for them. Which understandably upset her, since she knew the place well, but they quickly found another place to board and that place was Pine Creek Stables. And it was only a few miles from her home. Both her and her sister signed up for boarding. Kelly signed up to do some more expert training, but not really lessons teaching you how to ride because she already knew how to ride really well. Just heavy training for competitions. And while she was at it, since apparently she was already doing stuff here before the RP starts, she offered to the stables that she would train their horses and take care of them if they ever needed. She even offered to help their business further by taking in peoples horses that needed help, and trying to get them out of their fear of saddles, people, whatever (You get to say if they accepted that idea)
Extras: Even though her parents aren't quite so much, she has always felt like a country girl at heart, for not just the horses, but nature itself. Some of her favorite activities is to go camping, hiking, and anything nature related really.

Bio: Unlike her sister, she had only started riding recently. As in, shortly before they moved here, her sister taught her the basics of riding, and she found herself loving it as much as her older sister did, and since her parents weren't exactly suffering with money, they bought her a horse a few days later (that she picked out), and moved the horse directly to the new boarding stable, because they were just about to move. But, before that, she got aquainted with her horse and they were best friends instantly, along with her riding the horse before then, so they knew that the horse worked perfectly for her.

Now she is arriving at the stables for her first day here, and her first time of seeing her horse in like a week. Which made her rather excited, really, finally getting to see her horse again. Her first lesson was also today, though she told the school that she knew the basics, like tacking up a horse, getting on the horse, and how to sit properly on a horse (unlike Maisie who is completely new, though she's read enough about a lot of it that she probably KNOWS how to do it, she just hasn't done it yet), because of her sister, but much beyond simple walking she didn't know much at all.
Extras: Cara is probably more of a girly girl then her sister, but she isn't afraid to get dirty, either. It is just probably easier to get her dressed up nicely for a party then it is to get Kelly dressed up nicely for one.

And an expert in dressage, show jumping, and cross country, along with various other things, including some rodeo. Because she loves doing everything, and so does her horse

Bio: Unlike her sister, she had only started riding recently. As in, shortly before they moved here, her sister taught her the basics of riding, and she found herself loving it as much as her older sister did, and since her parents weren't exactly suffering with money, they bought her a horse a few days later (that she picked out), and moved the horse directly to the new boarding stable, because they were just about to move. But, before that, she got aquainted with her horse and they were best friends instantly, along with her riding the horse before then, so they knew that the horse worked perfectly for her.

Now she is arriving at the stables for her first day here, and her first time of seeing her horse in like a week. Which made her rather excited, really, finally getting to see her horse again. Her first lesson was also today, though she told the school that she knew the basics, like tacking up a horse, getting on the horse, and how to sit properly on a horse (unlike Maisie who is completely new, though she's read enough about a lot of it that she probably KNOWS how to do it, she just hasn't done it yet), because of her sister, but much beyond simple walking she didn't know much at all.
Extras: Cara is probably more of a girly girl then her sister, but she isn't afraid to get dirty, either. It is just probably easier to get her dressed up nicely for a party then it is to get Kelly dressed up nicely for one.
