However, the Chinese leadership usually attaches more importance to other fields of economy and do not directly indulge in any armed conflicts. Still China, being a great economic and military power, enjoys a considerable share in the global arms trade

Russia, former USSR, follows USA in the list of top 10 largest arms exporters in 2013 and secures the 2nd position on the list. The most famous weapon produced by Russia include the machine guns and other types of assault rifles. It is estimated that the total exports of arms done by Russia mount up to $10 billion. So, there is still a huge gap between the number 1 and number 2 largest exporters of arms.

..And since Russia is USSR, and America quite frankly is divided, the USSR is actually biggest Arms exporter in the world.
Also, on the Science and Technology thing, I would also say they are technically not the WORLD leader of that branch, but they are one of the leading countries. One of many examples of why China is not the OFFICIAL top world leader is that their Tiangong space station isn't even three modules big.

Brief Description of your nation's History: In 1960 and with the Union of South Africa remaining part of the Commonwealth, huge reforms were instituted. While the Apartheid remained in place, black and coloured people were given more rights, withing an outlined limit, called the "States Bill of Equality". The Mandate of South-West Africa was incorportated into the Union in 1968, while Lesotho and Swaziland followed in 1973 due to grim economic situations.

A possible war was averted in the area of Namimbia with the successful capture and execution of SWAPO cells inside the country in 1981, as the Angolan Civil War continued, South Africa intervened together with other commonwealth nations. Communist forces were eventually defeated in 1990, and with the New York Accords, Angola was put under a Provinsional democratic government and part of the country was occupied by South African forces till the February of 1995.

In 2001, more reforms were instituted and finally black and colored people were allowed to vote, although they were not allowed to run for Presidency or parliamentary seats. In the regions of Namimbia, Lesotho and Swaziland though, the position of the Governor was given to black officials, although they were closely administrated by their white and coloured superiors.

Now in 2013, the Union of South Afirca is slowly rising. Only question is, how long will the reformed apartheid last?
