Byzantium

On opposites sides of Byzantium were two armies. Each army had 600 infantry, 20 Calvary, and 20 chariots. A horn sounded from the back of each army and they started done thug coasts conquering land. The king had died just a week before and he gave his heir, Phylas II, his last wish to expand the kingdom. As the two armies set off, a third army of 300 men was loaded on to ships at the docks and sent to Crimea. They would be expanding the colony north.

Governor Jang scratched his head cluelessly. " what should I do?", he thought to himself while reading a letter from the Xia leaders. Apparently they had been overthrown by a new dynasty, the Shang, and were in exile. And thus it was only fitting that the trade minister of Heliulia walked in with a suggestion. " Instead of trying to restore the Xia ", the minister said ", why not just trade with the shang and whatever exile state the Xia manage to form. That way we can trade with two nations and have more wealth. It's just that simple!". In the end, Jang nodded and decided to go along with the minister's plan.

The archers continue to fire into the mass of foes and the surrounding troops tighten up around the enemy (who are already surrounded).

Bran admired the Highlanders as they tire into the enemy with their clubs. Several of the pikemen joined the rear and right flank that had curled around to attack the right flank of the enemy. Some of the pikemen picked up hatchets from the corpses of the fallen, deciding to use them in close combat.
Bran ordered that torches be brought from their camp. Several young soldiers, eager to be free from the fighting, went and brought back several torches. Lighting them, Bran gave them to his men, who charged into the enemy, swinging the fire into their faces and stabbing with their swords, or bashing with their clubs.

Using their swords and shields or whatever weapon they are using they manage to block most of the strikes, a few do get burnt but this just fuels their anger, although three are too injured to keep fighting due to a torch hitting them in the face. The surrounding troops push in harder, but at this moment the king orders his men to make a small opening hardly a man wide as to refilled easily if needed and from this hole he would let any enemy who seemed to be running (but kill any who didn't) escape and runaway. He know once one saw a way to escape more would follow until a general retreat would come across the enemy.

After many years of reconciling divisions, the broken people of Ardeni have finally untied under one Chieftain. The new Chieftain, Alafon, is a kind and courageous leader. With the past decades being very fertile and new weapons being made, the Ardeni are stronger than ever. Trade from across Europe has made the kingdom one of the richest in the north. Mnay of the northern tribes have been conquered or annexed, adding to their military might.
South Wales
"Run! Run! The're coming!" A woman screamed in a village on the coast of South Wales. It was the Ardeni, they were back on another raid. 10 boats landed, each carrying 10 or 12 rowers. Several farmers ran out with their spears or or pitchforks. They were quickly cut down as they approached up the beach. The Ardeni were infamous for their raids and did so often. After an hour, they left with all the loot they could put in their boats safely. Some took maidens back to marry them or make them their servants. As they returned to the village, they unloaded their loot and divided it among themselves. They would them continue their normal lives.

Northern Border with Verderner "Quickly! Shut the gates!" Yelled a warrior running into the fort. The others asked why, "The Chieftain of Verderner had declared war on Ardeni and sent about 150 warriors. They are about a miles away!" The warlord Hobherm said, "Send a messenger to Comlundoni to warn the king. We won't be able to hold them for long!"

Comlundoni The city of Comlundoni was growing by the year. More land clearing around the area allowed for more shepherding and farming. Metalwork was a growing sight across the Kingdom, especially in Comlundoni. Alafon walked around the market with his wife when all of a sudden, a horseman rode through. "Out of the way! Out of the way!" he yelled. He quickly. He dismounted and told the king. Afalon knew this was a last effort of Verderner. "I will gather an army and go north."

2 days later
Alafon marched with his 300 warriors he levied. They had been marching for several hours when they saw the village of Westburth burning. People were fleeing up the hill toward the army as they ransacked the village.
"Warriors! Give them hell!" Alafon yelled as they ran down the hill. The enemy saw the approaching Ardenian army and charged toward them. Since they were ransacking the village, the enemy formation was not as tight as Alafon's.
The 2 sides met in a fierce battle. The superior numbers of Alafon quickly surrounded the smaller army.
Alafons men cut them down one by one till there were none left alive. "There were several who were still in the village that ran back to their lands." A villager said to Alafon.
"They will have no lands." He replied. "We march on to Yhorhim!"

Tarifa, Iberia
Governor General Galfridus Troth had ordered that the Algeciras must be expanded, so civilians had taken to expanding across the bay. The most key point of interest, was the peak of Tarifa. Here farmland was cultivated, houses, baths, aqueducts and temples constructed all in the name of the Gods and the Emperor.

Trento, Italy
20 Vessels of the Itilican Navy had been rallied at the port-city, 8 had arrived from Sicily. This large fleet was to sail into the Ionian, escorting trade vessels to the Ameralite island of Crete. As well as this, 12 vessels had been amassed. 300 Soldiers had been ordered to board them as had 600 civilians. 6 sailed Southwards and the other 6 sailed Westwards. Trading vessels, filled to the brim with materials, specifically Bronze armour which has been constructed with the materials traded with the Ameralites, began the journeys to the Itilican Colonies, to supply the soldiers with the new armour.

Tyre, Polis of Tyre
The two Itilicans nodded, bowing and saying their goodbyes. They left the palace and headed for the Skiff which brought them to the Palace in what appeared to be decades before.

Byzantium

The two armies after 3 months had expanded the kingdom greatly. The Western army had taken up to half the coast of Bulgaria extend 30 miles inward. The Eastern army had expanded the kingdom up to the Mountains of Turkey. In Crimea, the north army had expanded up the peninsula for 100 miles. Phylas II, seeing the size of his kingdom, put his three most trusted friends in charge of the Western, eastern, and northern parts of the empire. Phylas still ruled over the kingdom as a whole.

Skittlesburg, Denmark
King Bjorn had great plans for Skittlesburg, and so the warriors were being assembled. At this moment, the warriors bore thick fur and hide armour, along with large, stone weapons. The King planned to secure a hold in Central Europe, whilst also preparing ships to chart new lands.
Fjorland, Southern Sweden
Chief Knarr gathered a number of the Fjorlanders to travel North and found a new village, in the hopes that he would discover something of significance for his King.

As the Japanese troops prepared for battle against the tribes of koryego ,another raid was reported, and the Army of Korea rushed to action. The Mirican troops numbered 2,000,and had 1,500 infantry,250 Calvary, and 250 archers. The enemy numbered 2,000,another hard task for the troops to take down hordes after horde of riding Calvary.
As the troops moved forward in formation, the Miricans had prepared to box them in. However, the cavalry sensed the order, and quickly rode out, killing 10 men in the process. The miricans launched blazing arrows at the Koreans, killing 40 of them, however they rode forward and attacked with swords, killing many. The miricans ordered for a tactic they had never used, the close in. The infantry did a death charge on the cavalry,so the Calvary and archers prepared an magnificent show of arrows, killing allot. with this, the Calvary closed in,and the infantry sashed into the horses, killing them. the troops now surrounded surrender.

Anatoyla

Lots of years had passed since Antiochos had become a Master General of the Drakonian army. This wasn't the life he had dreamed about back when he was a young man, but it was a good man. A life that brought him fame and glory, as one of the best Generals the Drakonians had ever seen. However he wasn't just a military brute. He believed that for the Drakonians to become an Empire they should work with the other Greeks and colonise the Mediteranean. Platonas however had other plans, wishing to make a name for himself in history he wished to prove his might as a Warrior King who conquered all of Asia. Antiochos, being the respected general he is had tried several time to change Platonas's mind but it was no use.

If only he was King, then things would be different, but Kings are elected for life and killing the King is punished by death. Antiochos however wasn't just an excelent Genral he was also beloved by his soldiers. He had enough support to organise a coup, but he just couldn't find it in him to do it. As a patriotic Drakonian he was forced to follow Drako's rules.

Antiocho's thoughts were interupted when his soldiers found the nearby base. Once more he got prepared for battle, waitting till night in order to strike a perfect attack. Hours passed and the fight was finally over, an other striking victory for Antiochos but it was different. This time he didn't feel pride on what he had accomplished, he felt disgust at what he just did. Killing people so that an other man would be written in history, enough was enough! Antiochos's actions will change the course of Drakonia forever!

Meanwhile in N.Africa
"Hah, finally, a city worthy of my name!" said Platonas, as the consturction Platopolis was finally finished. "Hopefully this will shut the mouth of Antiochos's and the of the Elders" he said while laughing.
But this wasn't what Antiochos wanted at all. A poor city constructed just so that an incomponet leader's name would remain in history was not enough. Some however could argue that Plato has been acting wise, being friendly with all the strong powers of the world while building a base for his people. His opponets however believed of strength through fear. If Drakonia was to become an Empire, every state that possed a threat should be vanquished and destroyed, and Antiochos wouldn't rest in peace till he secured freedom for every Drakonian

Valera
Chief City of the Valeran Civilization

Valeria, the centre of current Valeran Cvilization for some generations now, was busy. It had grown from a few thatched homesteads next to the River Ainur, to a bustling town and finally a true city of about 50,000 people. Complete with a three storey, brick and plaster palace outfitted with white stone columns and granite walls. A Temple to T'ha, Lord of Thunder and Prince of the Air, patron of the City, was located just off center, near the main market in the center of the city. The Temple itself was of black granite, two tiered and hosting a flame kept burning by the Priesthood of Thunder.

A Stone wall surrounded Valera, the stone buildings and either wooded to ceramic tiled roofing barely visible unless ooking from a tall hill, which would be hard to find given the cities location, which it was located on one large hill and plain surrounded by a split in the Ainur. With two Wooden bridges allowing Pedestrian access.

It seemed just like any other day, however plans were being made, the Valerans were the single civilized nation except for the nations to the South that was known. Sure rumors of faraway lands to the North and West were heard from tradesmen, but the exact distance was never transversed by any significant party. Yet, barbaric tribes surrounded Valera's dominions, to the North, West and East. Some roaming, some settled and becoming warrior-farmers; some peaceful and others raiders.

Never the less, Korg'en (King) Argolan, aged 37, and father of four, was making preparations. He was gathering a force of Warriors from the city, with several outlying Villages supplying some extra men with adventurous spirit and the ability to afford some arms for themselves. Argolan was to strike North of his current lands, seeking ot either Vassalize or subjugate the Tribes immidiately North of him.

120 or so men came out of the forest on horseback with long copper swords. one carried a flaming torch, and two others carried a lance. Sai had ordered that all of the unimportant or hostile villages in coastal south China or near the Yangtze River be pillaged and have their land stolen. anyway, the small army charged into the village, slaughtering as many men as they could and kidnapping the women (not Sai's order, but rather the warrior's choice). The torch man, with all his might, threw the flaming torch onto a thatched grass roof. The house caught fire and the soldiers proceded. They surrounded the village and either got off their horses or charged with their lances. The sound of screaming and the metallic clang of swords filled the smokey air. It was another decisive victory, and the warriors would feast tonight with the governor.

Alfonso wanted more land. His people needed more land. To the West vast tracks were still open for expansion and to the north there were great fertile lands as well. So instead of Going just one way he split his army. A third to go north, a third east and the last third would stay to defend the newly integrated lands. Alfonso would go north and conquer in the name of the Vaccaei his brother would lead the second army heading west. And soon their lands would stretch far and wide.

After a few hours of marching Alfonso's army was on the fringes of his lands. They had heard only stories of what lay in the north. Savages that killed any who ventured north. But the the stories were just that. Tales to scare small children in the night. Alfonso trudged onward soon they would see who or what lay ahead.

Alfonso's brother Dario rode at the head of the long column of men that stretched out behind him. They would pass the capitol soon and get supplies for the long journey ahead. He and his men were ready to fight any who would stand before them.

Chieftain Alafon sent a diplomat to Isurium to reason with their Chieftain. Alafon told the diplomat, Aedan, to ask for trade rights and mutual defense. It wasn't often the Ardeni dealt with the pagans, but Alafon wanted to make a friend of their new neighbor. Aedan rode for many days until he finally reached Isurium.
Aedan stood up on a cart in the middle of the city and said, "I bring glad tidings and wish to speak with your Chieftain!"

For Hay to read

A fleet of trading ships sailed through the red sea, looking for the so-called Canal of the Pharaohs. Using this canal, Heliulia could trade with the peoples on the Nile river, which in turn led to the Mediterranean. If all went well, perhaps Heliulia could make a trade agreement with the nations there in a similar manner to the Shang and the Ameralites. Kang Yu, commander of the fleet, was looking out on the ship's deck at the coast and saw a massive path dug out of the coast. Not only that, but the path had human settlement next to it and was filled with water. " Come here my loyal crew, I see the canal! I can see the canal!", he shouted. The crews of several ships ran onto the deck and were amazed by the canal.

After the fleet landed near the canal, the crew, made up of explorers, cartographers, scribes and merchants, walked into the town. They were in Aegyptus Majora.

Itilica, Italy
Within the halls of the Imperial Palace, a building whose roof pierced the heavens, sat the Emperor and his 4 advisors. This meeting had been called due to recent news being received from travelling merchants of the aggressive actions taken by the Itilicans Northern Neighbour.
"Our neighbours to the North have never been reasonable, sire" said the eldest of the advisors, a former General. "Their false Gods and Mythologies have been making them continuously hostile towards us".
The 3 other advisors nodded, each mentioning that an increase in soldiers garrisoning the North would deter the would-be foes. The Emperor agreed and began setting up recruiting stations across the Empire.

The 6 ships that sailed southwards from Trenton beached on the shores of Africa. Recent reports from traders and map charters had listed this area under the Ameralite control, however on this shoreline it appeared no ship from Ameralite origin where present. Taking the initiative the 300 civilians began setting up homes and the 150 soldiers began assisting wherever needed.

Kalah, Newly Founded Aegyptian Provine, North of the People of Toledo

Twenty years to the day since this settlement was founded. Senayu Nebeka, governor of the colony, had been one of the original colonists, sent by Divinum Rector Hotep to Iberia. He was a well known fisherman and shipbuilder. He was selected to lead the expedition west, and was appointed governor after proving to be an excellent leader. Senayu had named the colony himself, after his father, a poor farmer in Aegyptus Maiora. But this was 20 years ago. Senayu would have to live in the now to get by.

Most of the natives of the region were hostile, but a few tribes assisted in the establishment of the settlement. But not all Iberians were barbarous, as was learned soon by the Aegyptians, as news quickly spread of organized peoples to the North, the South, and the West. Trade caravans were sent in these directions, to establish a relation between them and the Aegyptians, and to see what their nations had to offer.

Abeshotep, Aegyptian Capital

Bilitu Hotep was getting old. He knew his time as ruler was coming to an end and, in the footsteps of his predecessor, had renamed his capital, to assure his name in the annals of his people. As if the statues weren't enough. He had recently ordered a fleet of 15 ships carrying almost 400 people, soldiers and civilians alike, to colonize the land between Italy and Iberia (modern-day Nice). His wise old eyes were gazing upon the rug, as they had countless times before, as the rulers before him had countless times before.

He had been told also been told of dignitaries from far to the East, speaking a foreign language. He had ordered to messenger to send the greatest linguists and diplomats to try and communicate with the delegation. Hopefully, they would be able to learn to speak with each other, and perhaps an embassy could be established.

The people of Toledo have always wanted to rid themselves of the northmen, and the nobility always wanted to satisfy the needs of the people. The nobles, namely Enrique of Leon have finally started a rallying call to the peoples of Toledo. He states in his "rallying call" to the people that "I will rid us of these northmen! Never shall they bother us again! Never shall we cower in fear against these so called mighty people! Now grab your swords and shields we will bring the head of their king!" With the rallying call he and his many messengers shouted throughout the villages have only produced a fruit of only 500 men with bronze swords and wooden shields and a few javelins to their name.

Enrique, confident of his petty army marches them northward to "Scare" the northerners into shape. He also sends an emissary to king Sancho of Leon stating that he would like some reinforcements in his petty invasion against the northmen.

The linguists came in and tried speaking various languages. After several attempts, it was found that Lower Sumerian was a language that some of the merchants understood. " Hello", one of the merchants said ", We are the Heliulians, and we come from the powerful eastern nation of Heliulia. I believe that you would like to establish an embassy, Isn't that right sir? anyway, we would be happy to accept an embassy and, with our new friendship, we will sent fleets of ships to your lovely nation that trade the finest cargo in all of the world. Also, would we be able to use the Canal of the Pharaohs to access the Mediterranean for trading purposes?" The merchant handed him a bag of strongly scented leaves and said ", Here, boil these leaves in water and drink it. It's called tea." After that, the easterners bought some supplies and prepared for the journey back home.

Sebtopiaris is a culturally and ethnically Mediterranean, single-party democratic socialist state in the New Warsaw Pact with a population of 39 million Sebtopiariots. Sebtopiaris and its IC actions do not represent my personal beliefs, and Sebtopiaris's overview page does not represent much at all.
