I'm not saying you're wrong, if I were in your situation he would face drastic consequences, I'm only saying that you're trying to avoid a war, but following through with killing him is the kind of thing that would start a war.

Oh I know it'll have dire OOC consequences; it would be meta gaming to say that ICly nothing would happen to him though, and I try very hard not to metagame. From an OoC standpoint I don't want war, but ICly I have to have my citizens react appropriately as if they really existed in that point in time and situation.

You have 12 fishing vessels, some or more likely most, are wrecked/sunk, the survivors settle/conquer a lot of southern Ireland? Yeahokthen. And now you have quite a lot of cavalry ready to invade England with an amount of ships you wouldn't have?

What in the HELL is going on? I'm no historian, and in fact an American 13 year-old in my parent's care. War? Battle? Who vs. Who? In a simple way, please. I am on a need-to-know basis in order to protect my trade, and to protect my nation. With all the change around me, the hours out of school aren't enough to wrap my head around this. I don't even know what year it is, you guys change it all the time.
