What happened is what usually happens when reservations are allowed without an OOC thread.

And now everyone's squabbling over colonies, land, histories, what alliances to make, and someone's going around trying to trade with everyone, no one's been accepted, and Caltarania and myself already pulled out.

My suggestion? Make an OOC, make all reservations moot, and first-come, first-served in the OOC.

I suppose that could work out.

Like how Americans incited revolt against Mexico in Cali during their war.

But instead of US coming in, they realize we are independent, and give us a few years to organize. Maybe I'll ally with Scandinavia or someone else. And offer gold and silver in exchange for protection.

OH! I know!

Let's say I had the Gold Rush already (not that inconceivable) and a Nevada Silver rush (not as big, but still)

And I'm pretty populated. That way I can stand a chance. And if I lose I'll still have the rebellious spirit in me, and my population could provide enough support (and maybe international backing from nations fearful of US power) to rebel!
