I would suggest within a day, however, to carry on this sudden rush of interest. Not that it won't be there in a week, but it'd be better to start the planning stages and I'd say get up around noon (EST) cause that's when I'll wake up, lol.

Also, let's make GoOF the NI of the 1770's.

That empire would have to have so many problems as to be completely and utterly unsustainable. Also, religion and ethnic factors would tear it apart in less than a year.

The Mongols literally killed everyone who dared to oppose them.

The British were fantastic at administration.

China is terrible at administration (realistically, administrators have been both a bane and a blessing >.>) and a history of making anyone who invades them 'Chinese' rather than defeating them. :P

Thus why this Ming would need to be extremely different.

And the Mongols were pretty lenient after they stopped conquering.

They already had tributary states all around the Indian Ocean.

Just keep going with that for 300 years, plus some exploring of Pacific, oh, forgot Alaska and Hawaii. They'd be later additions, like how Spain only got to Cali in 1776, except I'd do it by 1690.

Oh, it's unrealistic, especially with the way Ming was going in the 1400s... but have the PoD in the mid-late 1410's... and the possibilities are endless.

Perhaps Zheng He and his patron the Yongle Emperor survive well into their old age, and Yongle's son is raised around eunuchs and not Isolationists. The they'd have a good 40 more years of super-advanced exploration of the Indian Ocean, plus maybe Zheng He feels like going out into the Pacific only to be carried south on the currents and find Australia, discovering that the Pacific can hold as many treasures as the Indian. A treasure fleet bound for Zimbabwe gets blown off course, but unfortunately doesn't notice, and lands weeks later, after perhaps a mutiny, somewhere in California. They watch as the natives they traded their jewels and weapons with for food and seed die painful deaths from Eurasian diseases. They slowly grow, taking in natives and birthing more Ming, eventually creating a mix of the two, with Ming culture and native survival techniques. Farming spread across the hunter-gatherer California, and the colony tries to go back to their homeland, never hearing if their expeditions fail or succeed. All the while Ming still expands more and more aggressively into the Indian. Forcing states into tributary status with soft loans and shows of naval supremacy (that's why the treasure fleet was made in the first place). Eventually the Mongol and Manchurian threats are destroyed after a super-wealthy Ming crushes the nomads and forces them back into Kazakh and beyond (causing a resurgence of the Mongols in Europe). Korea is vassalized, as are Malacca (old Singpore, which was already a major port for the Treasure Fleets) and Ceylon (forward base for Ming operations). Any opposition is crushed with fleets of massive junks. Technology has been advancing and by the time Europeans round the horn of Africa the Indian Ocean is firmly in Ming's grasp. Knowing the world is round, and severely underestimating it's circumference, Ming fleets, carrying thousands of crewmembers and their concubines (look it up) venture East in order to find Europe and bring them into the tributary empire. The three fleets finally make it to the long-lost colony, 200 years after it's founding, the city of Dōngqū tǔdì makes contact with it's motherland, but it takes a while for Ming captains to realize they aren't natives. The natives had been assimilated, and the colony expands under that ideology, peaceful assimilation. By the beginning of the RP, in 1775(or 6, whatever) Ming is stable and is turning into an era of non-expansionism. Not inward perfection, as nobody benefits from that, but a kind of military stagnation. The Treasure fleets are being disassembled for scrap to build homes for peasants, and the colonies in California and Alaska (mostly the former) are thriving. The beginnings of a great colonial empire have been established, and Ming now looks to finally bring Europe to civilization.

oh god so many posts since I started writing that...

Yes yes, britain and their guns, I'm assuming here that ming had even bigger guns and ships, which they did, before tearing them apart IRL.

It is a dream, yes, but one I want to happen *EUIV HERE I COME!*

EVERYBODY ELSE, I like China, I think that for awhile there they deserved to rule the world, I like Inka because they were the only native civ (in my opinion) that should have survived the Spanish. I like California (Which I haven't RPed in awhile) because I'm frekain' from San Francisco, I tried Genoa, Italy because that's where my family is from, I try to find Ireland, but it's always claimed by some form of britain. I also like Germany, just 'cause.

Ah. I usually disconnect personal stuff to RP nations, but that's pretty cool. Are you pro China now a days jw?

Also, by that time, even if Zheng was around and did have a son to continue his legacy, the funding stops. Neo-Confucianism (which was the ideology by this time) argued that merchants were bad and that funding ships like Zheng's were bad for china and a waste of money due to China's vast resources as it was. They weren't wrong in that regard, but it did lead to their downfall because they went too isolationist.

No no no, not Zheng He's son, Yongle Emperor's son. He was raised around the neo-confucians, and therefore thought those things.

If he was raised around the Eunuchs, and then his son, and his, then eventually the eunuchs are the most powerful faction. Allowing centralized power.

Again, it's just a single possibility of the vast many there are.

Pro-china in what way? I hope that they will pass up the US? No... unless they completely turn around and are the best country ever in the next ten years, which isn't going to happen. But hey, I just gave a reasoning for an Imperialist China more advanced than Europe... anything's possible XD
