Oh, I saw it. That's just as easy to do elsewhere though really. Just give the angry natives more guns.

I'd go for a mix of the two; update to fifty years after the year we ended, let old nations come in, but allow historical license to create new ones in the intervening period.

Unfortunately, the POD is 1400, so it'd be unlikely for Zoroastrian Persia to be possible.

I'm thinking what would be interesting to RP, not to make as a nation. Something like Calt's American colonies and the British united sounds phenomenal to me, but half of the americas are gone. If you find me something else interesting to RP (so a conflict / story for a nation) then you can get luxembourg.

History:

In 1411, at the end of the Polish–Lithuanian–Teutonic War, the Teutonic Order had crumbled. It had lost Marienburg after the Siege of Marienburg in 1410, and was forced to sue for peace. In the treaty, Poland-Lithuania forced the Teutonic Order to reform. It became the Duchy of the Teutons, and until 1415 was tied to the Crown of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. It was, however, separated from the Commonwealth after it was inherited by the Frederick I of Brandenburg due to the untimely death of the Teutonic Duke. Frederick, eager to be more than a mere elector of the Holy Roman Empire, declared the Electorate of Brandenburg to have been promoted into a Kingdom, and sought Papal Approval. After the Pope's refusal to grant Frederick King status, there was outrage in Brandenburg. Frederick, in his anger, declared war on the Duchy of Pomerania, whom had been a longstanding enemy of Brandenburg. He quickly won the war, however due to the vast majority of the army being in Pomerania, an uprising started in Estonia, and spread to the vast majority of the Baltic. They declared independence from Brandenburg, much to the anger of Frederick. He sent his half of his army to deal with the rebels, to no avail. While they were pushed back, they were guaranteed support from Sweden and therefore Frederick was forced to pull back and lick his wounds. Frederick, seeking compensation for his loss of the Northern Baltic, declared war on Mecklenburg. The Holy Roman Emperor was displeased, however was powerless to stop Frederick due to his being involved in his own war. Mecklenburg soon fell, and Frederick sat back and relaxed.

In 1440, Frederick I passed away, with Frederick II taking his place as King of Brandenburg. The recent death of the Bohemian King would also prove advantageous to Brandenburg. The Czech nobility did not recognize the successor as valid, and this is where Frederick took advantage. He lured the rulers of Bohemia - the Landfriedens - to Brandenburg, with promises of gold and power. In 1445, Frederick II of Brandenburg marched his army into Prague, and declared the Kingdoms of Brandenburg and Bohemia to be united under Frederick II, who had 'restored order' to the anarchy-ridden Kingdom of Bohemia. The Bohemian nobility, eager to share in Brandenburg's riches, were more than happy to play along. Frederick declared the Dual Monarchy of Brandenburg-Bohemia, instating himself as both King of Brandenburg and King of Bohemia. Frederick had a policy of benign neglect towards Bohemia, and the nobility were fine with this; so long as Frederick kept up his promise of lands and riches. In order to fulfill this promise, in 1446 Frederick lead his army towards the Brunswick, which he had a claim against. In a swift war, Frederick provided his military capability in defeating both Brunswick and Hanseatic Mercenaries. Frederick declared the Duchy of Brunswick to be part of the Dual Monarchy, and divided the land in Brunswick among the Bohemian Landfriedens.

Frederick II was, however, only human, and in 1471 he passed the throne onto Albert III Achilles. His reign was relatively unimportant, and in 1486 he passed the throne onto John Cicero, who decreed that the Stadtschloss in Berlin, erected at the behest of his uncle Frederick II, should serve as the permanent residence of the Brandenburg electors, thus beginning the city's history as a state capital. His reign was, also relatively unimportant other than a short ban on alcohol along with the expansion of the military. In 1499, the throne was passed on to Joachim I Nestor, who added, in 1514, the Prince-Archbishopric-Electorate of Mainz to the growing collection of Brandenburgian possessions, along with the Free City of Frankfurt who was annexed after the long Siege of Frankfurt. He also saw the rise of the New World in politics, and oversaw the 1531 Berlin Expedition, which established the failed settlement of Joachimstadt in the later-colony of Königs-Halbinsel. In 1535 the throne passed to Joachim II Hector, who inherited Saxony in 1536 and added it to the Kingdom of Brandenburg. He become a Protestant, and marked Brandenburg's turn towards the Protestant Reformation. He was succeeded by John George and then Joachim Frederick in 1571 and 1598 respectively. In 1608, John Sigismund become King and lead Brandenburg in the Hanseatic Wars, which had the Dual-Monarchy of Brandenburg-Bohemia face off against the Free Cities of Lubeck, Hamburg and Bremen, along with Holstein and Saxe-Lauenburg, with aid from Danish armies. The Free Cities fell by 1610, as did Holstein and Saxe-Lauenburg, all of which were annexed into Brandenburg-Bohemia. John also oversaw the establishment of the settlement of Neu Frankfurt and the colony of the same name. John Sigismund passed away in 1619, leaving George William to pick up the pieces in a war-torn country. George was forced to fight in the Thirty Year's War, in which he fought for the Protestant cause. The Electoral Palatinate also, peacefully, was annexed into the Realm during his reign, after the death of their leadership during the Thirty Year's War and the subsequent perceived heroism of George William. He passed away in 1640, with Frederick William taking his place. The colonies in the New World had expanded, with a new settlement at Joachimstadt, which became known as Königstadt, being founded, along with the expansion of Neu Frankfurt. Further settlements, such as Neustadt in Friedrichsland, were also established.

After the death of Frederick William in 1688, Frederick III of Brandenburg took his place. The colonies in the New World had become known as 'Das Neues Reiches' or 'the New Realms'. They had grown, and mostly encompassed their coast of the current time. Kuba and Reichhafen had also been acquired after a skirmish with Spain, with the Spanish population being relatively quickly replaced with German-speaking immigrants. Frederick also oversaw the establishment of the Kapkolonie, in order to enable easier trade with the Orient. Frederick William also oversaw more mainland expansion, coupled with the capture of Goa in India. In 1705, he established the Kingdom of Prussia. He created a Parliament in Berlin, modeled on similar ones in Europe, and created the title of Chancellor, while also limiting his own powers with the writing of a Constitution. For this, he became known as Frederick 'the Just'. In 1713, he passed away, passing his throne onto Frederick William I of Prussia. Frederick oversaw the expansion of the New World colonies, along with the acquisition of Vontasmanischeland and the expansion of the Indien territory. He declared the Prussian Confederation in 1720, in an attempt to lower militancy in - mainly - Bohemia and the Baltics. This confederation delegated power to various states, called 'Reichsprovinz', within it. He further reduced the power of the now Kaiser, and made the Landtag a more democratic institution. He was known as Frederick William 'the Glorious'. In 1740, Frederick II took position as Kaiser.
