This place is still going? I'm glad to see it still up and running, at full strength.

I spent way too long on this thing.

Europan has the most European influence, and Carib warring has created a unique identity. It's basically east Taino mixed with European, African, allsorts.

Incapan is made of immigrants from the Incans who've integrated due to weird shit.

Kay.

I still need help with an OP and possible edited map due to the Yanks and their goddamn straight lines.

I don't think the straight lines will be too much of a problem, and have you got a proto-OP?

I have an idea, nothing more. I'm terribly bad at writing Ops.

Try finding an OP for a vaguely similar RP (might be that AH nation is only thing they have in common) and then replace all relevant info. Usually a decent place to start, and you can tweak it from there.

Aight, I think I'll use GooF's.

Guns of Our Forefathers

The year is 1750 AD, and the world is changing in the blink of an eye. What does the offspring of the Enlightenment hold for the world? Revolution? Independence? As the New World grows old, the civilized nations of the world turn to the south to find fresher lands. To all involved, their intentions seem good, but fate is set to determine if the results are. So what does the future hold for the world? So much has changed, and yet so much shall change.

I. PREMISE

This is an RP set in 1750. However, it is not the 1750 the world knows. Sure, all the tech and even some of the people may be the same, but the course of the world over the past few years may have veered from what is taught in textbooks.

II. TECH

Plain and simple: if it didn't exist in 1750, or any of the years that the RP is set in, then you cannot use it. However, should we get to a year where something is invented, then by all means discover it. Exceptionally significant technologies will randomly spawn in industrialized nations through random events. Also, do realize the limitations of tech; trading posts and small coastal settlements in Africa may be fine, but let's not scramble for it.

III. POINT OF DIVERGENCE

For this RP, the point of divergence (POD) is set as 1400 AD. What does this mean? It means that anything that occurs past January 1st, 1400 can b changed and manipulated, while anything before is canon history (sorry Scandinavian neo-pagans). However, player-written histories can't conflict. This means, for example, that if France reasonably invaded England, an application for England can't mention invading France at the same time.

IV. CLAIMING TERRITORIES

All players should try to post map changes as soon as possible; I will try to update the map frequently. One player may claim the land of another, though the player who first claimed that land will get to administer it. Disputed territory may be a factor in determining random events.

V. RANDOM EVENTS

Every now and then (whenever dafuq I want), I, or any Co-Ops, will post random events. Please note that the random events are precisely that: random. No one nation will be targeted for bad or good events. If you feel like you're being targeted by the events as a result of OP bias, then please discuss it with me; I would be more thanhappy to fix it if needed.

VI. TIME

Players should endeavor to follow a timescale of roughly 6 months a page (shout out to all you ETW fans). Of course, if there is a war or conference or any event which needs a lot of focus on a short period of time, then time can slow down for just those nations.

VII. REALISM

Last, but definitely not least, all players should heavily weigh their decisions and accurately portray the benefits and disadvantages of them. Not everyone's perfect, and I'll be angry if you are.

Chiefs of Civilization

It is the eighteen thousand and thirty sixth year of the Common Era, and the American nations are flourishing. In the north, the Iroquois have grown rich from trade with Europe and have united much of the former tribes of the area under their ideological view of the Great Law of Peace. In Mesoamerica, the Maya have united and come to dominate the Caribbean basin through trade and conquest. Their calendar has spread far and beyond their humble homeland, and it is quickly becoming one of the most widely used. And further south, the Inca too grow strong. Their economic systems have proven them to be an important contender on the world stage. What else does this world hold, you ask? Only time will tell.

I. PREMISE

This is an RP set in 1836. Well, sort of. In this alternate history, the New World was never colonized by the Old one and the native american peoples have, through trade with Europe and the Orient, evolved into nations similar to that of Europe and Asia.

II. TECH

Kinda simple, yet kinda complicated. Generally, if it existed in 1836, then it is allowed. There are, however, exceptions. For example, a Sub-Saharan tribe would not have the same tech as a city-dwelling one. There is creative liberty with the tech, to some extent, but should you wish to invent something you - and I stress this - MUST ask the Co-ops or myself for approval.

III. POINT OF DIVERGENCE

The POD for this RP is 1346, the beginning of the horrendous long Black Death. In our own timeline, this pandemic died off (we think, at least) in 1353. In this timeline, however, the disease survived the harsh winters in Europe and surged once more in 1354 and 1359, almost wiping out all life in Euroasioafrica. 70% of the European population was wiped out, along with 85% of Asia and 60% of Africa. The Black Death, however, does not effect the Americas. Europe began to recover, and in 1557 an Icelandic ship is blown off course in a freak storm and lands in an unknown land east of Europe. The crew are greeted by a small native american tribe, who aid them in repairing their ship. The ship returns to Iceland, with the natives on board, before landing in Norway to resupply. News of the so called 'World in the West' spreads through-out Europe, as does news of the so called 'Eastern Continent' in the Americas. Trade begins between Europe and the East Coast nations, and between the Orient and the West Coast nations. The native americans gradually settle cities and tribes transform into nations (for the most part, anyway). The Americas are comparable to Europe and Asia in that they are covered with various warring nations.

IV. CLAIMING TERRITORIES

All players should try to post map changes as soon as possible; I will try to update the map frequently. One player may claim the land of another, though the player who first claimed that land will get to administer it. Disputed territory may be a factor in determining random events.

Nation Name: Confederation of Greater Mayapan
Capital City: Maayapaan (Mayapan in Spanish, but we request foreigners use a transliteration of Maayapaan)
Claimed Territory: http://i.imgur.com/VHjIbYX.png
Population: Guessing about 69 million; Populstat wasn't very unhelpful, since populations didn't recover to pre-Columbian levels until the 20th century IRL.
National Flag: TBD
Currency: Tomin

Head of State: President Ichik Peten
Head of Government: Prime Minister
Government Type: Confederal direct democratic republic
National Ideologies: Liberalism (Maya has become very liberal), confederacy, nationalism (to a degree),
Primary Culture: Mayan
Accepted Cultures: All the ones marked on the map. Note that Europan is considered a culture.

Military Divisions: (please include size of total military and divisions. include images if you like)
History: The Mayans became a confederation and unified, met the Europeans and traded extensively while also opening up to the wider world, especially navally. The confederal structure and quick modernisation/technological development in general enabled expansion into nearby areas, eventually borders becoming much more concrete. Later years saw a strong navy developing and expansion into the Caribbean, as well as strong nationalist, democratic and liberalist movements coming to a head. Reforms saw it enter a state equal to any European, and ready to industrialize and jump onto the world stage.

Probably worse, considering it would be heavily populated with hundreds of different cultures clashing in a relatively small area.

I also just realized that we'll have to explain horses. Methinks there would be horses after trade etc, but they are nearly exclusive to the coastal nations. But maybe a plains nation could have one -shrug-

I think Maya would some, being so coastal and trade-oriented, and we'd probably have as many as we want, which is not very many, since we'd use them mostly as pack animals and in small-scale military. :P

edit: Canada needs them for mounties. Please don't deny them that. :P

Colombian exchange, IOTL. ITTL I guess some could have gotten free from the towns on the coasts or something.

They only got them after the Colombian exchange IOTL. But without extensive colonization I don't know if they'd get them ITTL. On reflection, I guess some horses would have escaped from towns and bred into the wild or something of that aspect.
