Also, the 1890s/Spanish American War would becool.

Just sayin'.

I would join if it is pre-Enlightenment. There is a spectacular dearth of anything before the Renaissance, really.

So did I....but I also want 1900-1950. Maybe that could be our second thread.

Yeah.

You remember the '30s thread.

Too bad it died. Or rather, was contaminated.

There's the 1000 AD one linked in the OP, as well as History of Man, and a few others. But it's true.

I'd really like to stay away from anything after the in dustrial revolution. Like I said, bread and butter and meat and potatoes would be ancient-enlightenment times.

Personally, I am enjoying the 1000 AD thread. I even made a flag, coat of arms and might even create and alternate history for my chosen nation there. Darn, I love history.

One solid requirement (well, not really) for an effective and long lasting historical RP is basically knowledge in history as precise as possible. Second is creativity to create alternate events and the "what if's" be made and answered with validity.

Indeed.
Though a sense of what level of accuracy is needed as well is also good; lots of RPs die because they are TOO precise; too focused on hard numbers and calculations, and extreme precision, which basically forces you onto a straight "realistic" path.

Overall, it takes a lot to make an RP, but thank god some of them didn't fall off the narrow path to victory.

I know we cant advertize RPs that we arent OP in, but there is one in 1936 in which i am co-op and we seriously need players in order to start playing.

(CHORUS:)
We are family
I got all my sisters with me
We are family
Get up ev'rybody and sing

Ev'ryone can see we're together
As we walk on by
(FLY!) and we fly just like birds of a feather
I won't tell no lie
(ALL!) all of the people around us they say
Can they be that close
Just let me state for the record
We're giving love in a family dose

(CHORUS x2)

Living life is fun and we've just begun
To get our share of the world's delights
(HIGH!) high hopes we have for the future
And our goal's in sight
(WE!) no we don't get depressed
Here's what we call our golden rule
Have faith in you and the things you do
You won't go wrong
This is our family Jewel

(REPEAT CHORUS TO FADE)

Sing along everybody!
