Implausible. If people had 1945 tech by 1500, they would have already finished discovering and exploring the Americas centuries earlier.

I don't think it would work unless you made a turtledove scenario where time travelers bring back future tech.

I was thinking of making a story where it was given to them in like the 1450's, and they just learned how to use it all with some sorta time travelers.
