We could do an OP and the Vice-OP thing like Calt and I are doing, that way both are pretty equally credited for their work. Or, I can get Waztaskio on board and get him to take over as OP for this with you as a Vice.

TBH I don't really like being an OP or a Vice. I don't really check apps or read the OOC unless the discussion is of interest. I'd rather just have my name in big ol bold font on the OP crediting me with the idea, and then I'd be happy

That's what Vice is. You don't do much work, you just kind of are there for helping with history and creativity and keeping the RP alive. If we got Waz on board, I think it'd be:
OP - Waz
Vice - You
Co-OP's - Calt, Glitter, Me

That'd be a good team.

Nah, son. Britain was all like "yo, why my colonies be all uppity an' shit?!" And Lord Durham laid it straight: "they be wantin' legislation with representation, dawg."

NEwest map of AH 1000 AD... thingy.

It's only Semi-AH, no Roman Remnant, no United HRE, no surviving Frankish Empire, but Islam is stronger in the West and weaker in the East, Byzantium, while looking great, has lots of problems with Bulgarians and Muslims, the Italian Republics are early and bigger (ish)... Britain more split, France more split, HRE bigger/larger princes, Pope still part of the HRE, HRE mush more German-focused, Italians pretty much are independent and just vote for new Emperors.

'Tis Munster (If you want to be fancy, Mu Mu), or Ireland ( or Éire), whichever, the King pretty much owns Ireland, so he says "I AM THE KING!" And even Ulster nobles and Petty King calls him "Rí".

XD

Welp, I could say I felt like it, but fine. I'll explain.

The Scots in the Western Isles rebelled after the fall of the "Viking Empires" (they were far more extensive in the AH, and their fall much more dramatic). So Scotland was nice and stable for half a century, eating their popcorn while watching England fall apart (and taking some themselves, namely their dynasty ruling Northumberland). But in 987 Norway declared war, having retaken Iceland and the Islands inbetween, plus stealing some of the extremely fractured Sweden and Denmark's land, declared war on Scotland. The navy was destroyed in a freak storm off of the Western Isles, but successfully invaded Scotland proper. They offered their terms of peace, and received the land they had occupied. Now peasants and nobles alike are rebelling, leaving Norway distracted and allowing Denmark and Sweden to ally, Sweden to retake their lands from the Saami and Svet, and form a united front against Norwegian aggression.

Now what would be interesting is if the King of England died and left England to Scotland and we had the Union of the Crowns in 1001 or whatever.

But how in the world would the Americans be able to achieve such an advanced civilization? They had no horses, no beasts of burden. They'd have to rely on man-power, and that wouldn't help much. Also, I'm guessing that slavery is prominent in this Alt. America, no?

The surprise I withheld was in this timeline, the Horses in North America (They existed, yes) didn't die out, meaning the New World had horses, the disease in the old world nearly wiped them out there.

As for slavery, I don't see why it wouldn't be, why do you think that?

I think that a lot of the appeal it might have had was from the scrappiness of the borders; whereas many RPs start off with neat, cultural/geographical/historical borders, AMAAQ made sure that nobody had either an unquestionable geographical goal (e.g. a Burgundy with two parts, which would make connecting the two a priority) nor none. Poland is strangely stretched with an odd vassal, Denmark is splattered across the Nordic world, Japan has untouched islands north and south and an ebul empir to the west, etc.

If that kind of stuff was the reason, and if it's still appealing though, I doubt.
