Honestly I think we should stop at WW2 tech because Modern is a bitch for some people.

I want tech advancement. That, or I'll simply make my weapons tech advance until I have a normal Kar98K.

How about Napoleonic to the 1930s. And tech will advance via a vote from all of us. A maybe allow it so that all of us can invent something. Though only one technology per person for that tech advancement. How's that?
