Well, my thought is that even alicorns seem to fear the tunnelers. Not to mention how they feel toward the hive mind (which I'm gonna assume is tougher). And your character is a gryphon, not even a unicorn capable of magic. And it likely won't be a 1 vs. 1 battle as there are likely to be tunneler guards. Also, like LL said, it would require a lot of Blackhounds to take the tunnelers out. I don't know, just my thought. I guess LL will decide the outcome when your characters battle.

Yeah, well, it's Dark Heart's mess anyway, so I think it should be him to clean it up.
Now, he won't be alone in this battle, his own clan will aid him in the fight, wither he like it or not.

Let's see where we are now; Dark Heart has come back to his senses... sort of, for the idea of fighting has giving him hope and his heading to the successors to have them prepare for battle. Now, soon, he'll begin to have questions about his parents, like why did his Parents leave behind a journal that lead him to such evil? and What did they really die for?

These questions will be answered at the Seaddel Ranger's place, for there lies a second journal, left behind by Dark Heart's parents, this journal will unlock these answers and more.

Basically, The vault almost opened not too long ago, Dark Heart's parents, who have been studying the vault for most of their lives and were members of the Seaddel Rangers, gave their lives to stop it from being opened. The Seaddel Rangers, after this kept one of two journals, they've left behind, the other, an earlier journal, which Dark Heart found and talks only about the vault itself, was deemed lost. The journal the rangers have, talks about the Silencers and the hive mind, and what they have studied about them. When Dark Heart realizes this, he realizes that it is he, and he alone who must truly finish his parent's work, by destroying the hive mind once and for all.

Wither he will survive this conflict, has yet to be seen.

It could be a terminal entry from the Vault's observers however that his parents looked into and made notes on the terminal about, however.

Ah, so his parent's at least had relations to the rangers, helped them study the vault, making them, at the time, the ONLY griffons in history who knew about the vault and it's contents.

Now, the reason why the alicorns in the Clan didn't know about the vault, well... buck it, any suggestions? Do ALL Alicorns really know about the vault's contents? Like, the ones in clan are outcast, so they mustn't have gotten the memo about it until they started looking for it, OR, they did know about it, but most of them only dismissed it as a scary ghost story, while some, like Razor Feather, had a bad feeling about the vault from the get-go, but still stayed with Dark Heart anyway, hoping to convince him not to open the vault, only to fail, OR I'm just a bad RPer in this, because I didn't actually read the Fan-fic... maybe we can just use the power of the poetic licenses and say that some alicorns just don't know about it because they ended up here for different reasons...

I have checked out the Fo:E wiki... man, I've screwed this RPg up... like, the way I've been playing, the Alicorns in the Clan, are natural born, and didn't know about the vault's contents, only through legend, but according to the wiki, all Alicorns were the result of some experiment, and all of them know about the vault and it's contents. Can there be some exceptions to this?
