The United Empire of Exucular wrote:Master Cosmos had to make a quick stationary barrel roll as the laser fire zoomed past the ship and cockpit. That was close. He thought to himself. He tuned his head around to see who was shooting at him and was surprised at what he saw. He saw Darth Vader piloting his fighter and judging by the continual laser fire he was aiming to kill. Master Cosmos had to shake him or at least damage his fighter long enough for him to escape to his ship or the surface. Since they were both going at top speed if he were to stop dead in space Vader would have to get out of the way or crash. Master Cosmos did just that and Vader came darting past underneath him. Taking the opportunity Master Cosmos began to open fire on Vader from behind.
Much of the frontlines of Droids have been put out of commission by the 501st continual defense of the hangers. However there was still the middle and backlines to deal with. The Super battle droids continued their explosive bombardment of the defensive lines and the standard droids continued to let loose blaster fire on anything moving on the storm troopers side of the hanger.
Onboard the Wraith many of the super battle droid focused on the AT-TE group by open fire on its legs and surrounding troops.
On the surface of Naboo hundreds of LAATs descended from the skies and landed in and around the capitol of Theed. Within minutes of landing the vast amount of rebel troops and battle droids of multiple variants began a massive battle around and within the capitol. Several of the vulture escorts began to search the area for mechanized and armored targets. While this was happening the troops began to spread throughout Theed and rescue the captured citizens from the stormtroopers.
A separate gunship flew away from the battle and landed close to the Gungan Capitol of Otoh Gunga hoping to gain their support.
In space the battle was intensifying with the arrival of Imperial reinforcement. The Lucrehulks began to focus their fire on the small escorts of the star destroyer while the vultures and bombers targeted their weapons armaments and engines. They hoped to take out the smaller vessels so they could focus on the bull that was currently charging at them.
A single vulture being chased by two TIE fighters crashes into the bridge of the last Imperial Venator causing a massive explosion with a shockwave running through the ship.
Vader rolled his starfighter away from Master Cosmos's laser fire and pushed for the escort ships. That's when Vader saw the fighters and bombers go for the first of the escorts. Their concentrated fire managed to severely damage a CR90 corvette that was too focused on the fighters in front of it. He gunned for the droid squadrons and attempted to aid the escorts. It wouldn't do if he lost them, since the fleet would be overwhelmed by the droid squadrons. It would also prove as good cover to gain the upper hand against the Jedi pilot.
The escorts weren't completely useless against the inbound fighters. They turned around to face the enemy droids and fired with everything they had. The Carrack cruisers' ion cannons managed to shutdown several droids just before they were destroyed by the cruisers' laser cannons.
The Star Destroyers took the reprieve from the droid onslaught to combat the enemy capital ships. The Wraith broke formation to join the new Star Destroyer Goliath in the destruction of the Lucrehulk battleships' communication arrays. With everything it had, the Wraith fired all of its turbolaser batteries and laser cannons at the large vessels, giving each shot every bit of spare energy the ship had. Meanwhile, the Devastator and the Behemoth continued their bombardment of the Bulwark battlecruiser, the turbolaser fire cutting right into the hull of the ship. After a few salvos of concentrated fire, the hull of the battlecruiser began to buckle under the intense firepower and one shot was lucky enough to destroy the Bulwark's command bridge. This resulted in the ship's listing towards the planet, ramming into a Recusant destroyer that had the misfortune to be underneath the doomed vessel. Escape pods and remaining fighters were ejected from the ships and the surrounding vessels tried to capture all of them with their tractor beams. Captain Bolvan sighed in relief. It was the second capital ship casualty on the Rebel's side and it was nice to take that threat out of action. That being done, the two Star Destroyers joined their sister ships in the destruction of the Lucrehulks.
The stormtroopers in the hangars were running out of options. Nothing seemed to stop the droids. All they could do now was hold out for as long as they can. Onboard the Wraith, the AT-TE buckled underneath the heavy firepower, but the walker didn't need to walk for it to be effective. The remaining stormtroopers used the downed walker as cover, while the turrets still firing into the army of droids.
Pantorrum wrote:The Aquitan Cruiser lowered over Theed and targeted all enemy locations. Diamond Boron missiles and laser turrets targeted enemy locations, and Master Deno continued to hold up the structual integrity off the Royal Palace. 50 Senate gaurds lowered to the city in 5 LAAT's and made way to hold the Palace.
Master Dy'lan leaped out and landed on the ground in Theed sending out a devistating blow. He used the force to soften his landing, but also forced out, knocking over dozens of troopers around him. He then drew his saber and ignited its aqua blue blade. He began slicing through stormtroopers to reach the Palace.
The stormtroopers were taken by surprise at the size of the rebel force, but they were prepared. Laser fire began to light up the sky as ground emplacements fired at the large swarm of gunships and fighters. Any armored units were diverted back to the city to combat the rebel forces. AT-TEs, TX-130 hovertanks, HAVT-5 Juggernaught tanks, and AT-STs were among those units. The Empire was not about to be challenged and lose to rebels. One way or another, the Empire will win the battle for Naboo.
The stormtroopers around the palace fired at the Jedi that dared to challenge them, though with little avail.
