It's not that it's bad to have trans characters or whatever - it's just that when you do it, sex or sexuality always ends up becoming the single defining thing about them, like "Woah, look at how edgy and funny this is, he's wearing a bra, that's so edgy and funny and special."

Though that's not how you mean for it to come across, it's how I end up reading your posts and all the characters just blend together.

I can promise you I'm done making sexuality the annoyingly defining thing about my character(s).

I'm pretty sure I know what direction I'm taking this time, and what stuff I'm certainly going to avoid. That being said, any tips?

Well, there's some in the OP.

We've also tended to do analysis of Hell. A lot. Like, a fucking ton of analysis on demonic culture, which I have based off African tribes, mostly. They tend to be very diverse in appearance and culture, have lived under an oppressive regime for thousands of years, so on, but perhaps a demon character might be difficult as something to just hop back in with.

Go with a human colonist in Hell. There's a lot of potential there we haven't explored.

What stopped you?

The job my dad was getting switched from being in a place in Maryland that he could commute to from Pennsylvania to northern Virginia. Which ultimately turned out for the best, since the traffic on the way to where he would have worked has apparently increased a lot. That, and Virginia's just better.

I think I have an idea. In fact, it's a character I already had concept-ed, and I could use him, as least for practice. Of course, this character has no lookalikes in DeviantArt, so I'll probably stick to a description.

What does Elfen High have in the way of summer school? And, really, what happens during the summer? Does everyone go home? Do people largely stay? I know there must be a summer break because of when the school year has been shown to start and end.
