Some Jewish scholars have theorized that angels are only capable of comprehending Ancient Hebrew. However, other Jewish scholars have composed contrary arguments. Here is a source. I've heard a few scholars argue on the basis of Talmudic scriptures that Hebrew is required when an individual prays alone, though not when individuals are with a larger congregation. I disagree with this view, though I would agree that Hebrew is the language of choice for prayer.

I've had the country pastors using plain speak; probably different elsewhere, as the country angels are quite dull.
