Name: Cuckoo

Age (Actual): Who the heck knows?

Age (Appears): Somewhere in his boyish (and horrifying) middle to late 10's...

Race: Well, if the small vestiges of horns are anything to go by, probably a New Times demon, although it's hard to tell beneath all that grease and rusty metal...

Appearance: Cuckoo was probably a cute little thing once, or at the very least he wasn't entirely vomit-inducingly unpleasant to look at. Nowadays, however, the boy within the steam and clockwork machine is a gruesome sight. His body is so emaciated and twisted by his many years trapped inside this bulky and filthy exoskeleton that it's difficult to see him as anything other than just another one of its mechanisms.

His body is deadly thin, his facial features, though clearly soft once, have become bony and sunken. Most of his skin, at least the parts that are not clothed in soiled torn rags, is coated in slimy grease and dried blood, as well as his long (probably pale brown) hair. His eyes are almost completely black, either because his pupils have become permanently dilated by his life in the darkness of the exoskeleton's interior, or maybe because the grease has seeped into his eyeballs.

His left arm is missing, replaced by a heavy and cumbersome mechanical one with extremely sharp fingertips and the litheness of a drunk rhinoceros playing the fiddle, his right foot lacks three toes, and his left leg seems to have been skinned to the bone in some parts.

On the bright side, his teeth are perfectly aligned and pearly, his lips are not utterly unkissable beneath the grime, grease and blood, and his exoskeleton looks cool enough from the outside to forget that there's a half-dead teenager inside. It's design is reminiscent of an owl, if owls were nine feet tall, had arms with freakishly razor-sharp hands, and were made of steal cogs and steam engines.

You know, I noticed today that the world of Elfen High and Marvel Comics seem to have quite a lot in common, and not just iron man armour. You have lots of superpowered individuals, some of which form special groups (Elfen High, Faerie University, the Avengers), a big powerful agency that protects the earth (The ISSR, S.H.I.E.L.D), there's beings discriminated against intensely from the way they're born (Demons, mutants in X-Men), the ordinary humans distrusting the metahumans (the general dislike/hatred of Elfen High, the sentiments that led to the supers registration act in the Civil War arc) and even similar characters. I noticed Dunefiend and The Hulk have similarities, as they both have super strength, are incredibly hard, if not nigh impossible to kill, and generally angry when they fight.
