Gonna go with that picture and they will be Omnivore's who are fiercely territorial and if desperate they would migrate and prey on any they can. Doesn't mean I'm gonna go all badass on everyone with a war march or anything.

I think it's the first guy to have evolved from a primate here.

... Which is something we need around here, since Pret's creature sounds like it's gonna be on the offensive. Same thing with G-Tech's creature, but they will only attack out at sea rather than go on an imperial march throughout the continent

I plan on sticking in one area or a general area on the map so that should work out great. Build up Civilization then maybe go to war over resources later on.

I'm pretty much gonna be isolationist, with a few territorial expansions here and there. I won't attack people until they attack me, or if I decide that another creature's territory is more useful than other territories near me.

Yeah, but as you said earlier, each post covers something like 700 years, so I can't exactly have us run into each other in the same place/same circumstances. I did set the stage for some conflict though, since the Ver!tch are starting to overstretch the forests and riverbanks they began from.

Omnivores, actually, but primarily herbivores. Think of them as vegetarians---they don't really like meat, but if they're hungry and need energy, they'll go for it.

The general impression I'm trying to get from the Ver!tch is a ravenous swarm that consumes everything in the way, only checked by massive predation and overpopulation, which will force them to cooperate for resources, setting the stage for the next cultural evolution.
