Elias Academy, High School Division (IC)

Postby Finorskia » Fri Aug 16, 2013 1:08 pm

It was the first day of the new year for Elias Academy and Wilson McDonald sat at a table in front of the small building that had been allocated to his new club. The building was two stories high and had a reasonably large shed next to it. McDonald was dressed in a green WW2 Wehrmacht motorcycle jacket and green M43 field cap. The fairly tall 16 year old lay his head across his folded arms on the table. He had been waiting for the past hour since the opening ceremony and orientation ended (in which he had been setting up his booth) for students, new and old, to come and sign up for his club. So far no one had been interested in joining a competition "survival" games club. Since it was a relatively nice day in the North Eastern corner of the US in which Elias Academy was located, McDonald had decided to simply take a nap.
It's not like anyone's gonna want to join anyway. He had though to himself before dozing. He had inserted his Ipod into a small radio and turned the volume down, just enough so that it was still audible, but not laud enough that it interfere with conversation. And so a semi depressed Wilson McDonald dozed off to the sound of various anime and video game theme songs.

Dharmesh walked up to the small grey building which supposedly housed the new club. Spotting his classmate dozing off outside, he sat down, leaning against the wall, waiting for others to arrive. Taking out a penknife, he began scraping under his fingernails. Suddenly, he began to hum "White Army Black Baron", to himself.

A humming noise from behind him caused Wilson to slowly stir awake. He sat up in his charge yawned and looked around. Upon noticing the noise from behind him he turned around to Dharmesh. Wilson recognized the student as one of his fellow seniors.
"Hey." He called. "Dharmesh right? Can I help?" He asked.

Kaya sighed relieved. The dumb opening ceremony had ended and she was free to wander as she pleased, at least till the first bell rang. She brushed some of her below-shoulder length pitch black hair behind her ear and looked at each club. Art, foreign languages, chess, so far nothing was interesting. Till she saw a booth that caught her ire. It had "Survival Games Club" etched on a sign.
"Survival Games Club? Is that like MILSIM?" She thought to herself and noticed there was a few students there already. She just watched them all from a short distance.
"Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum."
"Wewf Forever, Forever Wewf."
"Is it? Or is it so ridiculous it's the most ridiculously perfect idea you've never thought of?"

Standing up, he turned to the building. "Did they really give you this entire place for our activities?"

Ooyama

Ooyama looked down at the poster he held in his hands, it said something about writing to express yourself, to be free from your thoughts. Well that a load of crap, in addition I like my ideas in my head and my head alone, why isn't there something more interesting? Something close to hunting, where I can just lay on my stomach, all camouflaged, a rifle in my hands......... Now that would be something I'd join. Thought Ooyama, crumpling the piece of paper in his hand and throwing it in the nearest trash can. Then he let out a loud sigh as he continued to look around at the clubs booths that were set up near their respective club building, doing so with both if his hands behind his head.

Eventually his aimless wandering had caused him to stumble upon Wilson's booth, who wore his field cap and such. But what really caught Takashi's eyes was the name of the Club, or at least the main attraction for it. It was the word "Survival." Drawn to the name, he approached the sitting Wilson, who was trying to talk to another student.

"Yeah. Actually its one of the reasons this club hasn't been up and running sooner. In my tenth grade year I filled out the paperwork and they asked me if there was anything that I would be needing. I told them a three story building built like a school would be nice. They dragged me off to the headmaster and after a very interesting conversation he told me, 'Well Mr. McDonald I'll see what we can do.' Next thing I know they're building a new building entirely for some new club throughout my eleventh grade year. Just before the start of this year I was informed of the situation and now...here we are. They also fenced off a good section of forest and mountain for us to use and we have that shed over there for supplies and meetings." He gave gave Dharmesh a smile. "So I take it your here to sign up." He grabbed a sheet of paper and handed to him. The paper had all sorts of information about the club as well as several things to sign. "Just fill that out and your in." The tapping of footsteps caught Wilson's attention and he turned his head. He looked the kid up and down. He was kinda short.
"Hey. You here to sign up?" He shot a smile at Ooyama.

"I'm not sure about joining yet, but what exactly is the point of survival club? What are the activities presented?" Asked Ooyama coming closer to the booth, placing his hands in his pockets, his eyebrow arched in curiosity.

"Brilliant work mate!I must say, they really did an excellent job with this place. Some nice CQC, some LRP. Good stuff Mon amie, good stuff." Dharmesh pulled a pencil from his pocket, and began filling in the form. "So, tell me, will we be engaging primarily in team death matches, or objective defined matches? I myself prefer milsims, and commando raids. Of course, we could always play a back-to-the-basics game. Pistols only, and whatnot." Turning to the newcomer, he raised two fingers in a polish salute, and went back to his form.

"Well we engage in survival games or more accurately war games. It's a kin to paintball but instead we use air gun replicas of real life firearms. Essentially its like playing Call of Duty or Battlefield but instead of sitting around on your ass you go out and do it in real life. Its a lot more entertaining and challenging. It takes team work, strategy, and most of all skill. What's even better is that everyone who plays has their own reasons and ways of playing. I myself am a history fan and prefer to run with more historical weapons and gear. Some play for fun, others for the sense of competition. But almost all of us play because we like the adrenaline rush that being in a battle provides. So how about it, you want to join." Wilson cocked his head with a smile. He glanced over Dharmesh.
"Well be doing a bit of every thing, but we'll also be competing in local, national, and international tournaments. Oh and thanks." He looked over at the building. "It took me a lot of paperwork and string pulling to get done, and maybe a little bit of bribery as well." He gave an uneasy smile.

I personally am adept and ambushes, though I must work on my CQC skills. Well, if more paperwork is needed, you can count upon me to do my bit. The red tape tears faster under two blades, eh?"

"Sure, why not? It sounds interesting enough and the fact that I can finally use the airsoft guns I own elsewhere other than my small target range would suggest good times." Ooyama said with a small smile, taking his hands out of his pockets, and pulling a pen out.

"So where do I sign?"

"Thanks. I'd appreciate the support." He turned to Ooyama and slid a paper across the table. "Just fill out that form and everything will be good to go." He smiled, put his hands behind his head and leaned into the back of his chair staring at the sky.

It's not a lot, but its something. He thought to himself.

Ooyama quickly then looked at the form, thinking that he wasn't normal after all, otherwise he wouldn't have joined this club. Something other than constant schoolwork to finally occupy him, at least this was going to be more interesting and fun. Then with lightning like movement, Ooyama filled it out in less than 10 seconds, his pen a blur.

"Here you go, the name's Ooyama by the way. I'm a transfer student from Zensen Academy in Japan." He introduced himself, sliding the form back, then holding out his hand for a handshake.

Deciding that she'd seen enough, Kaya decided to walk up to the booth. She squeezed her way through the other students and looked at the guy sitting behind the booth.
"Got room for one more?" She asked plainly as she huffed when her bangs fell over one of her eyes. She brushed it behind her ear and then stared at the club owner-like person with a cold expression.
"Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum."
"Wewf Forever, Forever Wewf."

Suddenly interrupted by the newcomer, he raised an eyebrow, and said "Well, unless three make an effective fire-team, I would think so."

Furyō! (Delinquent!) The only thing that I don't like about this country, school's have a huge amounts of them. They have no respect for anybody at all except few, they're so rude............. Where have the elegant women in this country go?... Thought Ooyama, seeing the girl squeeze through to talk to Wilson. On his face a partial look of annoyance, putting his pen in his right pocket, then taking out a Harmonica from his left one. But before began to play, Ooyama turned to Dharmesh.

"Hai. Pleasure to meet you Vaid-San. (Prounounced like this, Vah-ee-da-san)." He said with a bow, his posture very composed and calm. After replying, Ooyama began to play "Amazing Grace" on his Harmonica, feeling a bit bored.

Ooyama put his right index finger on his bottom lip, thinking about the times he's played airsoft, stopping momentarily to focus and gather his thoughts.

"Let's see.......... I've played in about eight overall games, ranging from a team deathmatch to capture the flag, all of them outdoors. It's mainly because I prefer using High-Powered Scopes on my Gas-Powered Sniper Rifles, but sometimes I switch over to spring when I feel like it. I'm not really proficient when it comes to close quarter combat, never really liked getting up close and personal." Answered Ooyama, clapping his hands together when he finally answered his question.

Actually, I'm working on a handmade PKM too, but I'm probably not going to have it running for at least two months. Even longer if I can't find any useful bits lying about the workshop. Still, c'est la vie, no?"

"E~tsu? (Huh?, pronounced "Eh" but shorter than one thinks.) I didn't get that last part. But having a spring pistol for close combat is not ideal. Even though they have higher FPS than an AEP, they lack the rate of fire that other two types of sidearms have, which means you'll have to rely on luck when in close quarters. But to complete your comparison, I typically use a G&G G96 as my choice of rifle but as now I use my UK M24 a lot more, because it reminds when my father and I went hunting. For CQC I use a Gas-Powered P226, I'll probably have to find a medium range AEG though later on." Said Ooyama, trying to not sound offensive when he openly aid a negative comment about using his personal sidearm.

"Oh, you are certainly right about the spring pistol. Still, it is a cheap little thing I keep as an ultimate anti SHTF measure. Otherwise, my AK-74 should suffice. "

"Got room for one more?" She asked plainly as she huffed when her bangs fell over one of her eyes. She brushed it behind her ear and then stared at the club owner-like person with a cold expression.

"We've got room for five." Wilson said with a joking smile. He handed her one of the sign up sheets."Just fill this out and your in." He turned to the others.
"I've got to man this booth for another hour, but your welcome to head to the club house. It's that little garage over there. There's a TV, mini-fridge stocked with soda and the like. Also several gun lockers, The one with my name on it has my own personal gear, the community one is stuff I bought with club funds, the one that says ammo is well...ammo. Anyway feel free to claim a locker, there's a labeller in there somewhere. Just one thing, don't touch the copter, but feel free to check out the browning, just be careful I made it myself."

Kaya nodded and started to fill out the application. As she finished she slid the application back and looked at the guy who handed it to her then held her hand out, "My name is Kaya, Kaya Yseult. I'll have my milsim related things brought to the.. Headquarters.. later. I've.. Well.. got quite a load of equipment to bring in from elsewhere. Hope that's okay." She said.
"Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum."
"Wewf Forever, Forever Wewf."
"Is it? Or is it so ridiculous it's the most ridiculously perfect idea you've never thought of?"

"That depends on what it is your bringing. I'd suggest keeping any uniforms in your room, along with any accessories you won't be using to often. I'd also suggest keeping any weapons you don't use on a common basis there as well. I myself only keep my two MP40s, Long Luger, Kar 98 in my locker. I also keep my Browning 50 and chopper in there, sine there ain't really any place else to put them. Honestly there is quite a nice selection of community weapons to pick from so again you don't need to bring everything. The club room isn't all that big, I won't keep you from bringing all your personal gear, but I'll highly recommend against it. By the way I know who you are Kaya. We've been class mates for like the past three years, not that we spoke all that often. Anyway your application seems in check. Go on with the others, I'll be in when I'm done out here." He picked up all the filled out application forms and slid them into a folder in a messenger bag sitting next to his chair.
