History:
The Arab Coalition of New Babylonia's history begins in 1946, when the failing nations of Iraq, Lebanon and Syria formed The Coalition of Middle Eastern States. Not long after their formation, CMES invaded the Republic of the Middle East to prove their new superiority. Though they were able to expand into the oil-rich Arabian desert, the war put the Coalition in another financial crisis. In a desperate attempt to save their country, the government sold the nation to oil tycoon Saddam Pasha. He completely overhauled the country, dramatically changing the government and renaming the country The Arab Coalition of New Babylonia, after his oil company Babylon Corporation. Saddam modernized the military and divided the children to go to different schools depending on their strength.

Wait, wait, wait. I give you a couple of bases and support for your war, yet I still have to pay 115% of cost price? Remember, I do have a tiny bit of north sea oil so I'm not completely dependent on you.

So a bit of calculation here. In 1979, North Sea oil hit its peak with the Forties oil field producing about five hundred thousand barrels a day. If I add on smaller oil fields like Brent near Shetland and assume the rest is owned by the UCK, I could be producing six hundred thosuand barrels a day. In a year, that's two hundred and nineteen million barrels.

So, to work out what I need from you I need statistics of my own. You offered Japan, and their economy is and was very diferrent to mine, but I'm gonna go with it. In 1980, their population was a hundred and twenty million. They consumed one billion, eight hundred and ten million and four hundred thousand barrels of oil. I have a sixth of the population, so let's assume I use a sixth of the oil. That'd leave me with a consumption of three hundred and one million, seven hundred and thirty three thousand, three hundred and thirty three barrels every year. However, I'm quite industrialised so let's bring that up another hundred and fifty million to four hundred and fifty one million, seven hundred and thirty three thousand, three hundred and thirty three barrels every year. Luckily, to save the long numbers, the government keeps reserves so I need about four hundred and sixty million barrels per year. If I produce two hundred and nineteen million of those barrels, I need two hundred and forty one million barrels a year from elsewhere.

Calculations over? Oh hell no. In 1973, before the oil crisis, a barrel of oil cost slightly over ten poundsterling, that being the modern currency equivalent to about two pounds. For two hundred and forty one million barrels, that two billion, four hundred and ten million pounds.

So, down to the deal. If I give you: two naval bases, exclusively yours; access to any of my ground or air bases; and a billion pounds worth of weaponry; would you give me two hundred and forty million barrels of oil?
