It would pick up transmissions. It's not anywhere near Japan, China, Korea etc nor is it anywhere near Africa or North America.

It would pick up transmissions. I envisioned it as part of Europe (not part of the EU) perhaps close to the Bay of Biscay. It's NOT anywhere near Japan, China, Korea etc nor is it anywhere near Africa or North America.

For some reason, I used to imagine it in the Balkans...anyway, if it can receive transmissions from Russia/The Confederacy, awesome.

I don't really wanna start any event. Maybe something like an "unmarked quest", if you're a video game person. Nothing that really counts for squat, but simply has some neat "easter eggs" or interesting stuff in it, for those who happen to come across it. No effect on the world, no real plot or structure, no crazy events, just cool random things.

I disagree. In my opinion, Bielefeld falls under this trope. It borders Japan and Germany at the same time if you need it too, and has a mix of Tropical and Artic climates, depending on the lunar phase, if you need it too. It's just "Who the fuck knows."

Granted, you need to ask before saying "Alright today we border Russia."

I removed Europe from my post when I remembered that I moved it because I was getting extremely pissed off at the land grabbing. Rather than have the game thrown out of whack by having the nation take offense to being encroached upon, I moved it off the actual continent. This was way back, when Bran's happy orange on the map would have made Bielefeld (then the unnamed nation Vafflehelm was in) as being consumed by the BranRiech. It was on the Baltic Sea and I moved to near the Bay of Biscay, and then I invented a new continent.

I don't mind quests but we're gearing up for a few things. It's Cer's call, though. We did a last minute scramble for Tilt to keep his stuff on track.
