Made his own key to the house. Doesn't ask to borrow a cup of sugar, just walks in with a measuring cup, greets us with a "Sup", scoops what he needs out of the bag, leaves, possibly brings us some of the leftovers of the pie he was making with the sugar.

I, honestly don't know what I can do to stop these things. It give me something to do, and I always know someone would be free to discuss romance and assorted shite. Whenever I post that a character is someplace, no one ever takes notice unless it's about a relationship, then I get dragged into it somple because it's something to do.

And the old "Well go to a different RP" excuse doesn't work either. The only other one I'm in (New Ziyang's dead right?) moves a helluva' lot slower than PL.

I would appreciate if people took notice of my characters a bit more, it'd probably help a bit. Like if I post Bran doing something, send someone down, before I realize it's hopeless and revert back to pointless relationship stuff.

May I make a suggestion?

When players run their own adventures, you get a lot of disjointed posts and timelines. What we're trying to do it allow you guys a chance to learn how to play a somewhat fast-paced game where we're all working as a team. No one gets left behind. It's not about side adventures.

I've been playing EH for a week or two. It's the only thread similar to ours in that it's a fast mover mega-thread and crazy and all over the place. The difference is players are focused on one or three intense stories. They wait for others in the scene to respond. Some scenes are going slow because players returned to school. Others are blazing along because Nightkill is clever. People are on the same page.

They (like all RP) have someone wearing a leader hat. It's the GM for each weird story. It's not spontaneous "deep conversations". Rather, it's wild action, some flirting, and other things you'd find in PL.

In my other threads under my other puppet, the pace is slower because it's only one story arc. Just one. We post once or twice a day. It's a standard RP. These usually die because they move too slowly.

We need to find balance. While I know you guys enjoy the drama, and I don't want to discourage it totally because it keeps us alive, we need you three to put yourselves in a new way of thinking. "Hey, Cer. I want to work on Ti getting back with Kei tonight. Will that affect anything?" And Cer, being actually a rocking awesome OP, would say something like, "Hey, wait until Jacob, Ogoti and Chrys return to the restaurant. We can freeform (basically what you three are doing) for a few hours. It's now nighttime so there's a lull in my story."

I could kill any one of our characters and it wouldn't matter beans. Do you want to know why? Because this isn't Torii Life or Swith Life or Bran Life or even Chrys Life. We're all actors on the stage telling a story. You guys need to make the thread the primary story and your drama secondary to it. When I was engaged way back when, I still had to go to school and go to work. I had to go shopping and tackle family issues and participate in life. And life had a nasty way of fucking up my day. I couldn't snuggle with my boo when I wanted to. Fate kept us apart in our own tasks. Our OP is fate. This is how it is in any real RP. We may want to snuggle with our boo, but the OP has other plans. And you know what? Suddenly those drama scenes take on better meaning. You can't have that private time as often so when you do have that time, it's precious and the writing becomes poetry. Right now, it's just Player Bran having a romantic-theme conversation with Player Urran while Player Torsi listens in and pets a snake. There isn't any depth because your characters don't deal with anything. They sit around on their asses like lazy bums. Kei, Ti and Katya don't have a purpose in life. Find one for them... or let the OP find one for them. You'll see a new intensity to your game play moments.

I just feel like there;s not much my characters can ever do. They're either not in the right place, or dragged away by something, right around the time when an event happens, leaving them with no knowledge of it, and unable to take part.

In events where they do have knowledge, or are affected, and they try to offer to help, or join in, they're usually told that there;s nothing they can do, or are intimidated into staying back. Being normal humans, they would just easily be caught up in whatever supernatural stuff is happening from whatever 100+ genres in the RP. Even among other humans, they usually just support nowadays.

Torsie. IF you see an event that you want to join, TG the person in charge! They ahve plenty of things to do. Keep them focused on ambitions and don't get too distracted. Just have conversations like Albert and RAy have begun doing, where they actually have a point to them and show more of their character every time. just idle conversations are boring...

If you want something to do, help the raptors fight the SCP. Maybe you can think of the easy way to destroy this thing? Neither NVE nor Prim have so far.

I said 25% of the time, that doesn't mean every time.

If I ask if there's anything important involving my characters, I'll generally get no response, if I ask if there's anything I could join in on, I usually get no response either.

I also feel like Torii some times, that my characters just wouldn't work for the situation. Things in PL generally try challenging people. That's all fine and dandy, but they usually try to be challenging to the superpowered god-characters, leaving basically no chance for the weaker characters to get in and do anything, and when they could help, they're turned away.

Swith, I'd really love to find purpose for my characters, and I got one for Bran, but no one fucking wants my characters to do anything. The SCP was a bit too powerful for Natiya to do anything useful, I can't play Kei doing anything without worrying about people whining, and Rylli's taking care of a child. Not much room to do anything. No one ever goes to my characters with something they need to do, so there's nothing to actually give my characters a purpose. I just want to be involved more, rather than sitting back and watching all the people with powerful characters have fun.

I'm still intimidated by you, Cer, and Bones' characters, so if there was ever a moment where I could join in on them, I don't, because I don't feel accepted.

I still have to shoehorn my way into things because of it, feeling like I need to beg and plead just to get in on something.

YEah, but a gun that massive would be an act of war from your nation. Its also overkill when there's something that people use when gardening that could kill this thing..... As Bone just said (BTW, I did reply to that, but it got buried. I gave examples of what I did when I get bored)

And Bran. More characters makes a story interesting. If Natiya came back to help, she might figure out how to stop it as she could see what as going on and test out hunches without being instantly attacked if she stays out of range....

In all seriousness, I feel I should point out there's alternatives to posting every thirty seconds if you're bored. Read a book, play a game, go outside. I'm certain there are plenty of adorable kitten videos on Youtube that need watching.

You obviously have a PC if you're posting on PL. Even if you have a cardboard box of a computer that can run shit- you should still be able to kill time playing a simple flash game on Kongregate.

It just seems to me that the city is an incompetent, weak state that can only function with half of its institutions being filled by non-humans and demons. If it was just the city and the Confederacy, they wouldn't hesitate for a second to drop the bombs.

Its a sovereign nation. While my nation could easily invade using the methods they have to travel between universes, we don't. Mainly as we have no real reason to besides pure imperialism. I wanted to try invading the city myself once, but I agreed not to. Your nation should respect the rights of the city to exist as its own nation, if it doesn't expect to be stomped by its allies in retaliation. And things like the UN and ETC.

You haven't seen this before because this is your first RP. What a good ref/GM/OP does is assess each character to find a place for him. Think of Crucible. Cer figured out people's strengths and weaknesses and group teams so there was balance.

If you guys stop warping your characters, Cer and I (and Tilt and Bones) can figure out where you fit and incorporate you, too. We have ways to incorporate each and every character. But, if you're tied up in an apartment and in a drama scene, we can't involve you. And, when you're bored is not the time to insert yourself in a scene that was discussed in TG between players before going "live" in the thread.

Torsi, the cultists are there because the players won't get off their asses. The cultists have been whinging since June that they wish others would step up. But challenge accepted. I'll remember that the next time someone wants to do a Cthulhu/Drone invasion - thank you for offering to host it in your nation. That said, we have Cthulhu mixed with mundane, so the city can defend itself from the mundane but no nation can defend itself from Cthulhu... ergo the city has asked the Super Friends to use their Super Powers to help Save The Day. If Child Girl and the Pregnant Wonder would stop writing in diaries and vacillating between "I'm straight/I'm lesbian" long enough, they would see that they actually do have a vital role they can play even though they, like Batman, are completely mortal and lack superpowers.

Unfortunately, she's stuck right now. I actually had it planned for her to be motivated, and start working out again. Drama 24/7 gets dull.

And no, that's what I'm saying is annoying. I'm cool if we have crazy supernatural stuff happening around the city/world, but it seems that the "good guys" are now manipulating the city, and then the city (a tiny state) is now able to unleash them on anything. It's that stuff that worries my characters, and the people they report to, which is why an Anti-Power movement was started, relating to them.

Well, it's just barely relating right now, but as time goes, I will have them fall a little more under the sway.

Thanks. When I don't get a response I think I'm either being ignored or missed by people. ITs annoying enough for people to miss a post you put time into, when I could have just chosen to remain silent and play TW: Rome 2.


I could have Sig offer to help the city. He hasn't yet because he doesn't feel that he could help the city in any way. But it would be in his character. Albert would help but I'm not sure if his help would count as his nation interfering in the cities affairs. JAcob is a pacifist, so I'm not sure how he would help. And Octavian's an asshole. He just doesn't care in the least.
