From my threadbare knowledge of the region after skimming the Wiki articles, I wouldn't be surprised if a Mongol successor state popped up there.
Incidentally, I notice a strange lack of Mongol land.

I'd love to give Alaska to Russia in exchange for Kurils (and, of course, peace & love). I just painted it over because it looked nice, I probably wouldn't do much with it.

Seeing he lacks a coast to the west I think the only really useful allies invading him would be Ukraine, which is a bit small compared to Russia, Scandinavia, the two of whom I believe were thinking over a non aggressive pact, Kurds, who are probably a bit busier with their colonies, Persia, Japan, and China. Though honestly, not to be unfair or nothing, but it should be fair regardless of which two players get Russia. They were both told that the land was reserved for them and both worked on applications.

We barbarian Goths have to invade somebody, so I guess for land, power or a pile of gold you'll have us by your side.
You get the land. We just get revenge. This is only if the Krintz guy gets it. If the other guy gets it then I won't.Parhe wrote:Seeing he lacks a coast to the west I think the only really useful allies invading him would be Ukraine, which is a bit small compared to Russia, Scandinavia, the two of whom I believe were thinking over a non aggressive pact, Kurds, who are probably a bit busier with their colonies, Persia, Japan, and China. That was the plan.

Someone should just take over a random swathe of land in Mongolia, far east Russia and northern China and set up a Mongol puppet.

We have a damn good song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yys5iioLUNw. But we also will let you keep all of Russia. Don't forget, this is only if Krintz (or whatever he's called) gets Russia.

I counter with tiny Cossacks, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9VXLFrxN58, your move.

We can arrange one Russian extraterritorial port in Kurils in exchange for one Japanese extraterritorial port in Alaska, if that's something Russia is willing to consider.
Also, climate-wise, Kuril ports aren't much better than what Russia already has in Okhotsk and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. None of them is a all-year warm-water port (which is why Russia didn't hesitate to give all of Kurils away in 1875). The first true warm-water port Russia got in the Far East was Dalian.
