I watched a documentary about it a few years ago.It showed the most obvious outcomes and it was utter defeat for the Irish Army.

It's called If Lynch had Invaded.
It may be on an RTE website but I know for a fact the full documentary is not on youtube.
But it goes into depth at what would've happened with reconstructions of possible skirmishes and a background into the troubles I believe.

Sudan isn't under complete Egyptian control, it's jointly ruled by British and Egyptian authorities. Egypt at this time isn't entirely independent either. Britain still controls the Suez and the king is really no better than a puppet.
