One of the soldiers said something in Chinese then suddenly a thick smoke cloud covered the soldiers when it cleared out the soldiers were gone. Along with the emerald and all that was left was the Chinese flag.

However it wasn't long before they were caught again since they were not able to get far. A ring of Steel City Troopers caught them.

VAO had remained quiet since the scuffle with some of Slade's men. They had been scouting Jump City. Getting familiar with the people and places. VAO's goal was to conquer Jump City, so they wanted to start by actually establishing a base of operations within the city's boundaries. They entered the city and traveled to pier 41. After chasing out all the workers, they quickly established a base. They knew Slade would be more alert to their actions now that they had stationed themselves within the city, but that wasn't Zao's concern. After talking with Gengoushu, Zao decided the best way to defeat Slade was take out his allies. All villains in Jump City who were not apart of VAO were now considered as enemies. Their first target was Professor Chang. Zao himself was familiar with Professor Chang, as Chang sold weapons internationally and had been involved in trade with VAO at a point. However, Chang was allied with the Brotherhood of Evil and was therefore sided with Slade. Chang's intelligence and array of technology had to make him an indespensible contributor to the Brotherhood. Zao was determined to remove this valuable player from the game. And so, the plan was put into action.

Gengoushu, Master Huntao, and the Shanghai Skull were sent to Chang's headquarters.

Chang was unaware of this coming attack but he did not need to because he was making a transaction with the Brotherhood of Evil in which he alongside twenty of his guards negotiated with Madame Rouge, Monsieur Mallah, and twenty Brotherhood of Evil Robot Soldiers. Also his rather high tech security system and security force was ready.

"I see Professor Chang and some of his guards. About 20 of them. But there are a lot of other people in there too."

"Really?! Who else is in there?" asked Gengoushu.

The Brotherhood Robots simply lifted their arms as their hands turned into machine laser guns and fired away. Monsieur Mallah the gorilla tackled Dong while Madame Rouge used her rubbery applications to speed punch Zhu. Professor Chang noticed the fire and panicked so he activated the Facility Cooling System which began to spread Cryogenic smoke throughout the Facility.

Gengoushu protected the frogs from Chang's men by swinging his fan, causing a large gust of wind to blow the magma and red cement away from them.

Amphibemon and the Shangai Skull dodged the laser fire as they flew through the air, and responded by shooting flames at the soldiers on the ground.

Madame Rouge however did not move in each because when Zhu swatted her she simply allowed herself to stretch while remaining standing in the same spot. Rouge then stretched her arms until they were at least 10 feet long on each and wrapped both around Zhu's throat and began to choke him.
Chang knew exactly how to deal with the airborne pests. He set the temperature to excrutiatingly cold almost 200 below at the level they were flying at.

As the sky grew cold, Amphibemon froze immediately. However, the Shanghai Skull simply increased his own body heat. With flames shooting out of his hands and face, his body did not freeze. As Amphibemon fell from the sky, the Shanghai Skull flew over and caught him. As he carried him down to safety, he melted the ice. The two were now ready to fight again, and they focused their attention Chang's henchmen. They began shooting fireballs at them.

With the others as a distraction, Huntao (now with a new sword), confronted Chang.

Of course he set the Facility to self destruct once he pressed a button first. The moment he pressed the button which would be after all his henchmen and Brotherhood Allies were aboard the Submarine would be the moment the entire mountain which the base was hidden in would be blown to pieces.

"Jackson didn't you say Slade was having you steal tons of technology. And the first three pieces were for an interdimensional portal? What did Slade say about that when you told him about the scientist saying it was a portal."

Vladimir screamed in pain then he picked up a pistol and shot him the legs. And bit off his finger and picked up the emerald pice and walked of leaving the trooper to bleed out.

As Madame Rouge continued to try and strangle Zhu, he sprayed her and the robot with oil. "Huntao! Amphibemon!" he yelled. Both knew what to do. Amphibemon flew over and shot fire balls at Madame Rouge's extended arms. Huntao then quickly reversed Zhu's summon and the flames quickly spread across Rouge's body.

The Shanghai Skull flew over to Gengoushu and melted the ice.

After getting beaten badly, Dong fell to the ground unconcious. Huntao then reversed the summon.

Madame Rouge melted into a pool of rubber but reformed as she, Mallah, the Robot Soldiers, and Chang's men carrying everything they could away from the Facility dove down the hatch. Before closing it Madame Rouge extended her neck out and smirked at them. "You better start running now. After all the Self Destruct countdown is only five minutes." Then she went back down as the hatch closed and the Submarine sped away. The entire base inside the mountain began to ring with alarms and red lights and over the intercom a voice said the Self Destruct would occur in five minutes.
