Then just Wander the Waste as a roaming Solo Raider then.

Wait do you have an APP?

Which Character are you?

I don't. I have just recently expressed my interest in this thread after playing copious amounts of FNV. I'm telling you in advance, however.
Where must we go, we who wander this wasteland, in search for our better selves?
In Egypt's sandy silence, all alone,
Stands a gigantic Leg, which far off throws
The only shadow that the Desert knows:—
"I am great OZYMANDIAS," saith the stone,
"The King of Kings; this mighty City shows
"The wonders of my hand." The City's gone,
Nought but the Leg remaining to disclose
The site of this forgotten Babylon.

We wonder, and some Hunter may express
Wonder like ours, when thro' the wilderness
Where London stood, holding the Wolf in chace,
He meets some fragment huge, and stops to guess
What powerful but unrecorded race
Once dwelt in that annihilated place.

They are a pretty good faction *nods*

They are a mixture of classic Roman Imperialism and American South Eastern Boldness.

Besides the NCR lacked a proper counterpart for way too long.

Yes, but for those of you who know me, you know it takes a while for my work of genius to be produced. :P It takes about three or four revisions after its completed and I post it. So patience may be a virtue in this circumstance.

The way I looked at it was, if the NCr could overcome the Caesar's Legion, and the Brotherhood of Steel, then they would have no real threat, and eventually reunify post-war America, and how fun is that? The answer, of course, is not at all.

I support the NCR, mainly because they're dedicated to actual civilzation. The Legion is a group of totalitarian, misogynist slavers, and Mr. House just comes across as an asshole.

Customs? Maybe. That's debatable. But Latin is still very present in about half of Europe in the form of its successor languages, not to mention there's a country named after Rome.

Transox is correct. All Caesar's legion is is Roman Fanboys, idolizing the militaristic parts of Rome. They are just a roaming army at this point. with no real civilian population. They think that California will be the place they can settle to make a new Rome.

You should support a Militaristic Expansionist Society.

Preferably one driven by a sense of common good law, Not worthless concepts of freedom and morality when the world isn't ready that again.

The NCR is building from the blueprints that destroyed the world in Nuclear Fire.

Remember that.

The Legion is ensured to make Humanity survive to see the next century, to unite a sizable portion of it and ensure stability and peace. We don't know how it is beyond the Colorado but remember this; 86 Tribes follow the Legion. It likely governs Tens of thousands of people across Utah, New Mexico, Colorado and Arizona.

And it works more or less.

._. So Yeah they support a Plantation style economy and use slavery as a means of production but that keeps expenses low and their work force constantly replenished. They unlike the NCR will not suffer a resource exhaustion issue just because of a war, The Legion are the citizens of this new Nation, the Slaves however are property and as such they are protected, kept safe and healthy.

Honestly you get a few sob stories, a few burnt out towns and people declare the Legion a roaming army of slavers.

Not the best chance the wastes have to survive under mankind.

Ahem both were and are Monolithic Consumer States who conquered and subverted local populations and absorbed to strengthen their civilizations.

They are in my eye a modern counterpart to Rome because they are about 75% of the same views upon subjects.

I am surprised Caesar didn't call the great salt lakes a Legion Lake.

That's just not true.

The Mojave had a tempting Target within it to name Capital but the Legion survived long before it entered that realm and declared it theirs.

Also given that so much of their Culture is shrouded beyond the Militarism you honestly cannot say that they do not emulate rome in that either; because it just isn't known.

._. This is the same discussion i had with those idiots on the wiki who decided because of a few pieces of dialogue the Legion's Victory at Hoover is unlikely.

It's a PC decision until the canon is established that's what i told them.

And i will you the same.

Until their culture is fully explored it will be individual interpretation.

In Fallout 3 i supported the BoS and defeated the Enclave. And if played FNV I would have supported the NCR. Rome is not a place I would live in and the NCR despite its faults offers the best chance for people to prosper from what I can tell. Not just exist.

The Legion are my favorite too :)! In the short stories I write, Legion towns are usually filled with mostly women and children who are underage with a few men who have specialized skills for civilian use, shopkeepers, and merchants. The towns are ran by a Centurion who lived like lords, and citizens of the Legion have a required dress code (rag clothing). Large statues of Caesar dot the landscapes as well as Legion camps.

Uh-huh.

Massive corruption, the Elite and Wealthy dictating the government's action and reaction.

Infrastructure failing, Revolution likely, Overextended and has a poor logistical basis.

._.

Its going to die Rebel.

That Legion is going to keep living because it exists to maintain Humanities existence.

Sounds about how i picture Utah and Colorado.

I expect Flagstaff is both Citadel and Palace though personally.

It would be the primary garrisoning point for the Legion Military no? And they would require a population to maintain them so you likely would have an actual city there just built around servicing the Legion.

The Legion has one Tyrant and the NCR has several. But if the NCR operates like the nations of today the citizens have a say about what goes on. And slaves and citizens of the Legion do not.

I am more of a John Locke type than a Thomas Hobbes type.

No they don't?

I just said the Wealthy dictate government position.

Crud the only way to find work in the NCR by the time of NV is by either joining the military and getting sent east on Kimball's tunnel vision war or working the Farms.

The Caravan Companies, Arms Companies, Water Companies and Large Trading Outfits all operate on the exchange of skilled personal and money. Oh and here is the best bit? They don't even support their best chance at winning over the common people again.

The Followers of the Apocalypse? Free Tutoring and Medical Care? Education, Health and Civic minded thinking? The very models of society? And its their own fault really, their state puts resources over citizens and tramples over anything in its way to claim more resources.

The Legion doesn't hide behind legality and deception its at least earnest most of the time in it's intent to bring civilization.

It doesn't make excuses, it is what it is an expansionist society that needs room to grow and the Mojave is the latest chapter in a fairly lengthy book called Legion Conquests.
