Welcome to the Madness
Short Description
Okay so basically imagine Alice in Wonderland mixed with Oblivion's the Shivering Isle's and an MCR music video. Then add an unhealthy dose of LSD, acid, and schrooms. Finally, pile on blood, gore, violence, and insane demented creatures. Okay. You got that? Now get really wasted and do it again. That's what I'm going for with this RP.

Backstory
Welcome to the realm of madness and insanity. The realm where everything is what it isn't and isn't what it is. Where the beings of the damned, mad, and insane rule the planes and mushroom forests of a rather irrational world. From the castles of the mad queens to the walled lands of the sane, to the dark forests of the insane this world is everything but normal. But then what is normal? Who has the right to define it? Are the mad truly abnormal or do they simply live by different rules than what we expect? Whether you're sane or absolutely bonkers the realm is a place of mystery to be explored. Where secrets will be uncovered and wars will be waged. Where love will be found and sanity will be lost. All in the name of the madgod we walk this forsaken land. All in the name of him we flourish here among the demented.
Beings
There are 5 different beings in the Realm of Madness. There are the beings of sanity, the beings of madness, the beings of insanity, the beings of rapture, and the beings of revenge. Each is at it's level of madness. Every living thing effected by the madness gives off a spore. It's an invisible force that slowly turns others insane. The more exposed you are to it the faster you move through the stages.
Beings of Sanity
Stage 1 - These characters are completely sane. They are new to the realm of madness whether by birth or through entering from another realm. They give off no spore and are perfectly safe to be around.
Stage 2 - These character have begun their slow decent into madness. They seem perfectly normal on the outside but on the inside the spore is making it's mark. Thoughts are becoming stranger, dreams more insane. These characters give off little to no spore.
Stage 3 - These characters are now at the brink of madness. They now begin showing signs of the spore through simple actions and through spoken word. They can hide among the lower stages but a trained eye can easily pick out a stage 3 in a crowd. They mostly look as if they are stoned all the the time. These characters have begun giving off small amounts of spore.
Beings of Madness
Stage 1 - These characters are now past the brink of sanity and one with the madness. Chances are the character is still completely unaware of their own madness and goes merrily about with their lives as if nothing changed. These characters will start to form mental ailments such as OCD, multiple personalities, and schizophrenia. These characters are now becoming a threat to others sanity. A minimal threat but still a threat.
Stage 2 - These characters are now into the heart of madness. They no longer fit in with the sane world and any condition that they have gained in stage 1 has worsened. They now live in their own personal view of the realm formed within their own minds. Whether it be wonderful or demented. They have now become a viable threat to the sanity of others.
Stage 3 - These characters are past any signs of sanity. They have officially gone off the deep end and are a pure description of madness. They now start to hear the voices of the madgod whispering to them and are fully enveloped in any condition formed prior. They begin shutting out the outside world and begin to become more and more comfortable living in their own minds. These characters are now a moderate threat to sanity.
Beings of Insanity
Stage 1 - These characters are completely cut off from the sane world. The spore has begun killing the host in an attempt to create a lifeless shell of pure insanity. They can no longer hold normal conversations and are prone to random but brutal acts of violence. They become a threat to lives of others and are not allowed in populated areas. These characters are a major threat to others sanity.
Stage 2 - These characters are long gone from their sane selves. Their words are now so hard to understand that they rarely speak and the insanity is capable of taking control of the body for long amounts of time spreading chaos to the realm. The man that used to be is capable of coming out every now and then but only for short periods of time. These characters are infested with spore and a monumental threat to others.
Stage 3 - These characters have lost any remaining bit of what they once where. They are dead. The spore has killed off anything that they were claiming the body as it's own. They are incredibly strong and violent and have no feeling of remorse or any other emotion for that matter. They are on a constant hunt for blood and is only bound to instinct and the whispers of the madgod. These characters can only infect others with the spore by a bite or scratch. If the afflicted area is not healed fast enough the character will skip the stages of madness and go straight to insanity.
Beings of Revenge
Non-player beings. Beings of revenge are people chosen personally by the madgod after death to help keep order in his realm. There must be balance between insanity, madness, and sanity and that's exactly what the beings of revenge protect. They hunt down threats to the balance, namely beings of insanity, and send to the Asylum of Despair. Being sent to the asylum is by far the worst form of afterlife available.
Beings of Rapture
Non-player beings. Beings of rapture are the exact opposite of the beings of revenge. The beings of rapture award the good instead of punishing the bad. They reward those devoted to protecting the balance with a rapture or a free pass to the Court of the Madgod. Being sent to the court is by far the best form of afterlife available.
Kingdoms
The Red Queen - To the east of the Great River lie the Kingdom of the Red Queen. The land is most known for it's swamps and mushroom forests with the occasional village finding rest on a hill or in the tree tops. The land is hard and rough and only the most experienced of adventurers should try their hand at navigating off the trails alone. The Red Queen herself is known to be just as rough and unpredictable as the land.
The Blue Queen - To the west of the Great River lie the Kingdom of the Blue Queen. The land is most known most for it's highlands and many pristine lakes that scatter the rolling hills. Villages are a common sight throughout the land though the castle itself is nowhere near the might of the Red Queen's. The Blue Queen is known mostly as a benevolent ruler usually giving exile to a troublemaker instead of beheading them.
The White King - To the South resting on the river delta is lie the Kingdom of the White King. The land is known mostly for it's flat fertile plains and the many river branches that cut through the land from the Great River. The castle is by far the weakest and smallest however the entire kingdom has a wall surrounding the land. The White King is a classic example Tyranny by Majority. He leads the only sane kingdom and intends to keep it that way. Anyone suspected of carrying the madness is thrown out immediately to prevent the spread of the spore.
The Outlands - The outlands are to to the far north past the snowy mountains and into the unknown world. It is a place of pure insanity as the beings have been able to find shelter there for centuries now. It is extremely unpredictable as one second you could be in a swamp and the next a desert. The normal rules don't apply here. The land seems to have a mind of it's own a mind that only the beings of insanity have become accustomed to hearing.
The Citadel - The Citadel was once, and still is, the greatest mark of architectural prowess ever created in the Realm of Madness. It is a massive castle sitting snugly on the Great River in the north huddled against the snowy mountains. It was once a place of neutrality marking a safe land for the Queens of Madness to meet but it has now fallen on ill times after being taken over by the Beings of Insanity.
Characters
While one of the main points of this RP is to experience your characters slow decent into madness and insanity you may start at whatever being and stage you wish. You may be any species that you wish human, vampire, werewolf, talking cat, sentient ferret, spriggan, fae, something totally made up, whatever. However it can't be anything overly OP, you know what I mean. AKA no characters related to gods whatsoever. No demigods or anything like that.
Post Length
To be honest I don't really have the time to read through your post to make sure that's it's five sentences or whatever but just make sure that you at least make it to the 4th line. There are no exceptions. I don't care whether your in a conversation or whatever your doing it needs to at least make it to the 4th line. However if English is your second language I won't yell at you for only making it to the third line.
Tech
This RP's tech is entirely based on medieval fantasy. Which means no guns or any gunpowder related weaponry. Anything along the lines of spears, swords, halberds, axes, and maces are good. You are even allowed to put in a little fantasy to your weapons by giving them enchantments and the such but again be careful to not get overly OP.
